Have picture? My cab has no holes in the curved part of the bottom of the cab that I will call the "engine tunnel" (except for the 4 bolt holes for the center seat and the two bolt holes on each side for seat belts, all of which are populated).
Now I'm going to have to go look for that hole. I don't think mine has it, or else I never noticed it.
For cargo management, I carry...
- Regular sized (1" wide?) ratchet straps
- Regular sized (1" wide?) cam-lock straps
- Heavy duty (2-3" wide?) ratchet straps
- A military cargo net (about...
I took a look at the steering knob. The bolt is unusual enough that it may be custom. I checked the threads in the knob, and they are M12 x 1.75mm. It wouldn't be terribly hard for a machinist to make a new "foot" for a standard bolt (Socket Head Cap SCrew). McMaster # 60795K15 would be a...
I have the Parker part numbers in my parts spreadsheet. Any Parker hydraulic hose shop should be able to make it for you (about $150/ea). Only thing I would change is to move up to 1-1/8" diameter tube, from the 7/8" I used.
I just wanted to add the videos, that Reworked LMTV posted elsewhere.
Putting a bottle jack in between the leaf spring and the frame rail and jacking it up to relieve pressure on the joint can allow grease to flow into an otherwise stuck joint. It also gets the grease into the upper half of the...
Sorry, I misread. Those are driveshaft joints. I think I've seen steering shafts on eBay reasonably priced recently. You might be able to just replace the whole shaft.
Can you clarify a couple things?
The 30 degree part has a long extension on it? Was that intentional? Did you just use that temporarily to grease it, then reinstall the original short fitting? The 45 degree part number you list is a normal-length fitting.
These 1/8" NPT fittings fit? All...
I just replaced the u-joints on my front shaft. I think they were $45 each for Neapco 4-0279 joints, and I think they were even made in the USA!
Do you happen to have a link to the video? If you watched it on YouTube recently you can go to the "History" section (I think it's on the left side).
On one of my engines it was an engraved aluminum plate, about the size of a dollar bill. On the other engine, it was a paper label with a clear "sticker" over it, about the same size.
Yes, I can lift my '97 M1078 cab fully up, and fully down, almost twice, on one full tank(s) of air. That's also what the manual says is to be expected.
The seats are on eBay. Search for "Military Vehicle Truck Seat w/ Seat Belt Restraint RG-31 GLOBAL SEATING Systems". $120 + $50 shipping each (I'm not the seller). You would get those seats (separately), and they would bolt up to this plate I'm having made.
I ordered some military seats with built-in seatbelts off of eBay for $170 each shipped. The guy has 2 pairs left.
I'm designing up a mounting adapter plate, and after some stress analysis probably some brackets that anchor the plate into the seat belt bolt holes in the body. This would let you...
If that picture is a little confusing (it was to me originally), don't let it fool you. When you're laying underneath the truck, looking up at the bellhousing between the engine and transmission, there is a rectangular plate (pictured) right on the bottom. The plug stores in the threaded...
