My current maximum combined gross is 16,500 pounds. Junk to the dump. Old composition roofing, old decking material and just trash.
The 1031 SECM pulled it, just not fast. I put it in 4 low once off road as the dump has some good grades and D9 grouser ruts.
Top port on valve goes to transmission. The only reason for the block was to keep he order, as long as you remember the mnemonic of "top to transmission", the block isn't needed.
Yes, 70 amps is a bit much but the rebuild kits lasted for a year. My plans to reduce the draw involve a pulse width modulated speed control but time constraints are keeping that shelved.
I should also post the symptoms for this failure...I had a slight dim glow a few months ago during a...
Well, I could barter for services rendered, right? I mean eventually these 18 hour days are going to make me anger wife and family so I might need a crash pad 😡.
yeah, I have been hot under the collar from all the "emergency" repairs I have had to do for others, plus the non compensated...
Last year, I decided to renew the alternators in my 1031 SECM using Alternator and Starter Parts Wharehouse kits. Three weeks ago, I had a serious over voltage on the front battery/driver's side alternator. Replaced the regulator which brought voltage down but it didn't have enough current to...
.
Frequency will droop with sudden loads but should level out in a second or two. This droop can help start motors. The voltage should drop only for a fraction of a second. But this all depends on the type of motor.
brushed universal motors are really bad at causing voltage spikes due to...
Impact wrenches are dynamic, they do not do a good job spinning a heavy crank. Now a 3/4" DRILL will work, even though it has less torque than a 1/2" impact wrench.
Back to the question, ethanol in the fuel will ruin the float in the carburetor and cause flooding. Also, clutches can have...
No need for synthetic, Pistons don't get hot enough.
first run check there is oil pressure, then let it warm up at rated speed and load test. No need to baby these engines, they are far more powerful than required.
You talking of the Oldham drive key? If broken, it won't run period. This is a fuel flow issue, the injection pump requires good flow and pressure, otherwise the case pressure drops and then the plunger cavitates when the pump gets hot after running for a spell.
Definitely check the priming...
You endured the trip to NC to get it, running condition unknown. I'm just a wrench spinner with neat tricky tools like a Motive pressure brake bleeder, 4000 psi pressure washer and a penchant for getting my hands dirty
Exactly. The return spring forcing the plunger to the cam lobe should always maintain contact, when the plunger floats is when bad things happen. And that happens with bad fuel, varnish on the plunger or other debris causing stiction. The plunger should always be free.
last missing clip...
The engines are all Onan. Onan sold the design rights to the U.S. Government as a military standard, even though they were only used for generators and one application as a hydraulic power unit. The generator is also an Onan design sold as a military standard.
Just like the LMTV line which...
Yes, that is just a high pressure plug on a drill path. High pressure flows from the delivery valve back to the plunger. The plunger turns at half crank speed, functioning as both the fuel injection pulse and distributor. There is a slot on the plunger which times the injection pulse to the...
The issue with dying on coast is injector pump, only way to fix it is remove and replace with a known good pump. Actually, it is just the vanes in the booster pump but at 86k, it is time for a new one.
All welds are full penetration V, either double or single V. 1/16" land, 1/16" root gap. The pintle plate welds were an issue to keep away from the bolt heads. So I had to compensate the weld profile, putting less leg on the plate and more on the tube. it still is full penetration.
