7 canines, 3 equines, 40+ chickens, 2 felines and 1 Lagomorpha. Now two goats.
We got rid of the Guniea fowl, too noisy. They were tasty with veggies and dumplings:grd:
Ok, enough on play goats. Not to be out done, I got myself TWO goats. Unfortunately they are only 4x4 and don't have Detroit Diesels. But they have a taste for oak leaves, specifically Live Oak leaves which we have plenty of this time of year ( Live Oaks shed their leaves in the spring...
Wait. If you are Hannibal Smith, that would make me B A Baracus. I'm too white for that, fool.:driver:. And Andy is Face Man? We know who is Murdoch
Well, WHEN we replace those lines...beg, borrow, buy or steal some crows foot wrenches. Even Hazard Fraught store brand will make the job easier. 3/8" drive size. One 5/8", the other 9/16". Or even 1/4" drive would work better. Not a bunch of torque, just a real PITA to access.
I too had to...
If you have the fittings, you should be able to make the line yourself. My 002a has reusable fittings on that line, ferrule crimps elsewhere and I just use air hose ferrules with a vise crimping tool.
Differentials typically require special lubriction because of the hypoid gearing imposing extra sliding motion between the faces. Spur and helical gears are much easier to lubricate.
A three buck harbor freight multimeter would tell you if you have power to the pink wire with key on. It even fits in the glove box. And fixing it right is cheaper than adding a jumper wire.
There is a 10 gauge pink wire to the IP, this needs 12 volts for engine to run. Fuel shut off solenoid. Also, green wires are timing advance and fast idle.
No no smoke means no fuel. Any flammables to the intake air can damage an engine. Slow cranking speed means hard starting too.

GM and New Process changed lubricants in the 1980s to Dextron II after testing. Smokey Yunick talked about this in his column in Pop Science magazine, stating Dex II has the extreme pressure package preventing gear wear.
There is also an issue with overheating at higher speed using heavier...
I'm going to get flamed here..bought my truck in 2012 with 9009 original miles. Oil was black so I changed it at about 10k miles. I have not changed it again :burn:.
The oil cooler line up by the radiator has a class 2 leak, I've swapped out Viton o rings multiple times and it stops the leak...
Aside from the priming fuel pump, the CUCV is pretty easy to service. And darn easy to drive. But it isn't a hardcore MV. The M35 is the king of your criteria. A pain to drive and slightly easier to work on.
Oh, that is close. Morning traffic not fun.
On the brake hoses, the RR is pretty bad. It has four hold down fasteners, three on the hose itself and one on the steel line behind the tube nut. There is scant clearance for any wrench, the hose clamps get in the way of even 12 point sockets. So...
Had the gen 1 light dimly glowing when the heater was on full, cleaned the heater fuse and all is gone. I needed the defog, doing 100 miles in rain at 60 F.
Extensive 4WD operation today. 14 miles off hard pack, dirt roads ranging from soupy gravel to pure jello mud.
so bad the rocker panels slimed my legs getting out. And the back of the 1031 is still covered, I cleaned the license plate, lights and rear view camera off before getting on hard...
Bringing back memories of the total frame on restoration of mkcoen's M37. The bed was in similar shape, minus the bends. Lots of rust so we took another partially rusted bottom and pieced a repaired one together. Lots of cutting and welding. Lots of other holes patched. It was great once...
