You can get oddly high readings if the contacts in the selector switch on the front panel are not making perfect contact.
The circuit for the load meter are switched in that switch and contact resistance will goof up the current reading.
You can try to "exercise" the selector switch to polish...
How abut one of these for a power inlet?

Pressing the lights is only a self test of the bulb. It does not "reset" anything.
Normally you should only have to toggle the interrupter switch to the CLOSE position for a moment for the contactor to latch closed.
Could be an intermittent connection somewhere, a flakey contact in a number of...
As for simple checks...
1) If you HOLD the contactor switch in the CLOSE position do you get any power from the output terminals?
If holding the switch in the CLOSE position makes power at the output terminals then SKIP the following checks.
If you have a voltmeter you can check for ~24 volts...
Yes - the AC interrupter switch must be toggled to the CLOSE position after each time it's started to enable power to the output terminals.
The 10A convenience outlet always has power regardless of the interrupter state.
Any fault lights on after you start it or after you attempt to close the...
Actually it should be...
1. Upon starting the generator, the load contacts on the contactor (A1-A2, B1-B2) will be OPEN. The indicator light on the control panel should be OFF.
2. Flipping the AC circuit interrupter switch to CLOSE and then allowing it to return to center will CLOSE the load...
Just keep watching the auction listings and you may/will stumble upon one at a reasonable price. I trolled GL for about a year before scoring mine.
It was a 1994 802 with ~1,400 hours on it. Non runner when I picked it up from Ft. Meade. $833 including tax & premium.
A few relatively easy to...
Does the contactor closed light stay on if you hold the interrupter switch in the close position?
If yes then flip the battle short switch to on and try to close the contactor by momentarily flipping the contactor close switch and see if the light stays on. If it does it indicates the K8...
The solar battery bank is a set of 8 deep cycle 12 volt FLA 90 AH batteries connected in series and parallel to create a 48 volt 180 AH battery bank.
It's four pairs of 12 volt batteries connected in parallel and then the 4 sets tied in series.
Planning to replace the battery bank this summer...
I assume you cranked it with the injectors out?
If so my first hunch would be that the water that got in caused rust to form on the cylinder walls above where the pistons were sitting. When you rotate the crank and the piston hits the rusted section of the cylinder wall causing it come to a...
Mike,
Got your PM. Will send you what I have for info as well as the Auduino code for both controllers.
The code is still in beta testing so it is not 100%. Been too cold to work on some of the details.
Also there are tid bits in the code for debugging and some time delays shortened.
It was...
BobbyT - Nice Jeep! I'm also into off roading. 1992 YJ 4 linked, tons, 43" stickies, cage, winch's,...
I have no plans to sell a "kit".
However I'd be happy to share any and all information I have about each of the controllers, how to build them, program them, firmware files and how to...
Another thread here inspired me to design and build a remote start and generator parameter reporting system for my 802 to use in conjunction with my PV battery bank solar charging system and thought this may be of interest to other Mep owners.
I've designed, built and coded the 802 Autostart...
I've been working on that very feature since early December. Wireless genset start/stop with remote parameter monitoring.
Prototype is working. Will be posting up once I tweek the firmware, shoot some pics and a video.
As I recall there are 2 small drains at the base of the radiator exhaust. The two drains can easily get clogged with debris as they are quite small. Mine were clogged with sand and debris when I picked it up. Snow and ice would certainly be an issue for the drains though.
I too have mine on...
I think these were AMMPS units.
These were listed in MD in the auction that closed Monday.
