Chris, for how long did you flush it? Did you follow the procedure? You should be able to get a clear flow from flushing one time, just keep it going and you can do the radiator separately.
The coolant filter is in a bypass loop, so it will take a while for all fluid to pass just one time...
Thanks for your replies!
Here is the information/description from the TM (image).
Often when researching an item, just a note or small paragraph, where it's mentioned can lead to new knowledge. This tire was exclusively made for the m656 series trucks and was pretty special at the time...
Adding to Mark's post...
Note that the simple ground symbol in the wiring diagram can be misleading, the actual path of the return (ground) is from the case of the sending unit, via a screw to the tank, via a screw on the fuel pump assy to the fuel pump housing, to the connector on the fuel pump...
I'm aware that this may have limited interest, but it's still a bit of a problem for me.
The concern is that I ended up with exhaust fumes and fuel in the "fresh air" duct of my Benmar installation and the sealing of the joint between combustion chamber and the fresh air stream is the problem...
Can't speak for Stuart, but he bought a HEMTT. Judging by all his m656 posts, I think he has second thoughts. :-)
I love my 757 (as you now know, a close relative to the 656). Believe it or not, I sometimes take my shoes off when working inside the all aluminum cab...
Duncan, look again at the...
It's sometimes difficult not to repeat answers, but asking and answering "live" is what a forum is all about IMHO, so let's see, the purpose of the intake manifold heater is to warm the air and promote ignition at very cold temperatures. Should never be needed above 20°F and with good batteries...
M656 with bed sides up and w/cargo cover. The bed sides are sealed with pressurized air for swimming.
All built by Ford and less than 500 delivered to the army in 1969. About 1/3 were xm757 truck tractors.
Duncan, some images that will give you an idea of the differences. The weight distribution empty or loaded, is almost identical for both variants. The 757 doesn't swim, but will ford 4 ft of water without any preparations other than pressurizing the axle housings, brake drums and engine and...
Great Cabell! Yeah, there are ten more torque rods to knock loose (I'll work on getting them completely worked over at some later time).
I'd like to get the winch checked out as well, since that may take more than one or two people.
We have trails on some 40 acres available, although not all...
:-) You don't have to bring one, that's the point, very few around, so, since I haven't been active attending any rallies, this would be the second best option to show it off and let others drive it.
Come in your civy car, there is plenty of parking and if you'd prefer to bring your MV, that's...
A Saturday and Sunday some time within the next 3 or 4 weeks, date to be set when we have good weather forecast, since it will be an outdoor affair.
This was briefly discussed in the chat room several weeks ago and first suggested by Cabell.
I can accommodate six or so people, even overnight if...
Here is one, let me know if you want more details, got plenty of pictures, just not on hand....
Stampy, never had a preluber on the deuce, OPCOM does. Spin-ons would help, but not really a sub for a prelub system.
I agree with Leonard and will add that "bench testing" does have its benefits.
Also, the push button light switch is an electronic device and like radios, should not be "ON" when the engine is cranked, so install an additional on/off switch for the bush button switch so that it can be...
I don't believe that the army would have neglected the tires to a point that they were 20 or 30 years old before replacing them. :-)
The "69" on the side wall is not the date, at the time the date code was a 3-digit number and the decade was not shown. Example in image below.
