Eric, the slave cylinder piston (4) is driven by a rod from the air cylinder, if the seal cup (1) leaks, fluid will enter the air chamber. Image courtesy gringeltaube.....
Mentioned earlier (I think), consider the inside coating, zinc, when using an acid.
Google hit:
Vinegar is a solution of acetic acid, HC2H3O2. Acetic acid is a weak acid, which means that it is only about 1% dissociated. But it will still react with zinc metal to produce hydrogen ions.
Zn(s)...
The fuel gauge is easy to check if you remove the sending unit from the tank (see diagram below).
On the M35 the ground connection via the fuel pump and tank may be iffy, check it!
Jake makes reference to a critical angle of 120° between the load and the winch....here is a sketch showing the angle and how a smaller angle will gradually increase the load on the snatch block until it is at a maximum of twice the winch pull. He makes a good point and I think it's worth repeating.
The recalibration suggested above (by yours truly) simply compensates for the bypassing of the FDC. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the droop screw adjustment should not have anything to do with that and is a separate procedure.
Speddmon could very well be right, there is no spark suppression on the starter relay, so erosion of the start switch contacts is to be expected. Prevent it by adding a diode as shown below...
Yes, it does get less fuel at start-up, since the FDC adjusts when it's in the loop. When bypassed you start out with fixed fuel delivery.
I had a potentiometer installed on one FDC and monitored the movement of the piston and at start-up it's "wide open" and gradually adjusts according to the...
Get a sewing awl and thread and stitch it yourself.
I have found that "Goop" works great, used it for two bikini tops (canvas) and one vinyl cover so far....
After air and fuel filters have been confirmed in good condition (clean the air filter with low pressure compressed air), drain a few gallons of fuel from the fuel tank to make sure no water is present. My drain plug is a 9/16 Allen head, yours may be different.
Like mentioned above, check for...
Carquest 85133 comes with the correct gasket. When torquing the filter housing bolt, don't turn the housing, keep a steady, firm pressure on it.
Do not overtorque, the fine thread insert in the cast bracket may break loose.

The FDC (Fuel Density Compensator) adjusts fuel delivery according to its viscosity so that any one or mixture of fuels specified for the engine will produce the same power output. Works for #1, #2 diesel, kerosene and gasoline. However, if biodiesel or veggie oil is used, which has higher...
