1)Put a hot cable diect to the horn (not the - side) or put a + and _ to the horn direct. and see if it sounds. then go from there.
2)Any headlight "glass" works. I use standard old voltswagon units with 90/100 watt (24v volt) bulbs.
3)no. if everything is adjusted up correctly the brakes (not...
Nice Truck
That is one nice truck..no wonder you changed your mind anyone would be proud to own and drive that. drive it gently some distance and see if the white smoke emissions cease. Check head bolt torques. good luck and enjoy the exerience.
here's one for some head scratching. My 5 ton M54 multifuel drips oil only when standing and not running. The oil drips out from between the sump /gasket/and engine base from one single spot only from between number 4 and 5 sump bolt from the rear passengers side (starter and oil filter side and...
these posts are some times really hard to understand. you are pulling "this trailer with my LDS 465" ok that's a deuce and would have no problem towing it. pulling it with something else is a different matter. (loaded with "my LDS 465")
OK (sorry one can not delete posts) the first page only...
Our largest show is in july here in the U.K. so with 9 trucks to get to the show..and 3 jeeps, I obtained this usefull 3 1/2 ton trailer to haul two jeeps to the show. Coat of paint few modifications we are good to go. (that will be 3 down 6 to go!).
I like the twin pull of 70deuce. I use my m62 (taxed as) tractor for pulling the 47foot sliding deck recovery tariler now as I sold my M54 tractor unit. Usually with 4 jeeps or combination jeeps and a truck.
You buy one of these and..you HAVE a super truck. (as in nice, as well as super = tough!) The range is fantastic all types. and (dare I say it (yes)) they do have everything a military truck should possess. like brakes and tire infators that actually work..air driers that actually function, fuel...
congratulations
nice truck. sounds like that was a satisfactory and rewarding trip
. and yes you are right to say " the unusual sides" neat..a one off.
I have a good idea
How about run the engine at start up without any oil for half a minute!. All my trucks have pre-engine oil pressure pumps fitted. It's so satisfying (and anti-fretting) to see a start up at 60 psi. Pretty much vibration knock and noise free.

With those symptoms (and the intank pump not running) it sounds like it was very low on fuel, hard start then went 5 miles. Now it will be air locked so adding fuel is too late. It will have to be primed and bled to run again. Any truck pump (temporarly) fitted now should get you home.
