I feel like such a cheap ho

Will, I'd think about putting a primer on the bed before painting it. Rustoleum "Rusty metal primer" has worked very well for me......I like to work it in with a brush.

Empty pick-up going East on I-40

My son Adrian will be driving his PU from Ventura CA to VA some time mid June and if anybody needs anything transported let me know. He does have the CJ7 on a trailer also, but should be able to handle reasonable loads. Small contribution in fuel money would be appreciated.

    Air plumbing part needed

Thanks, it has power steering and automatic trans, so if you'd want to drive it it shouldn't be a problem. :-) I'm setting up a 1/2 mile off road track and a 5 mile road "track" for testing rather soon. PM sent.

    Air plumbing part needed

Thanks man, the 8x8 will be happy, it's for one of the air connections to the hosetenna ("pogostick")....

    Air plumbing part needed

Anybody have one of these at a reasonable cost? It's a feedthru type fitting for glad hands etc and I'm looking for one unit in good condition to replace a bent one. Thanks.

    Airr pressure/ air tank question

The brakes will lock up if the Airpac isn't vented properly. Probable cause could be blocked vent tubing or valves within the unit not functioning normally. An Airpac rebuild may be in order. Remember to give it some lube once a year or so, lightweight oil like air tool lube of hydraulic fluid...

    Multi- fuel fuel line

Why not use copper tubing, like the original? If not, I have used the black air brake plastic tubing available at NAPA with brass inserts to keep the ferrules from biting thru the plastic. I believe Tom Bauer first suggested the use of this tubing and it has worked for me. Remove your flasher...

    Size of "Good driver" decal

Re: RE: Size of "Good driver" decal That would be about right, thanks... The one on ebay, #230253353436 looks proportionally larger (thanks Wayne for the link), so I guess they come in different sizes....

(Back to!) converting to a tractor!

Clark Truck Parts: (304) 755-8811 Maccus, does this (image) help? Drawing provided by David Doyle when I was working on the 5th wheel for my 757.

    Size of "Good driver" decal

The driver's side door on my 757 has a missing decal, just some residue left and I'm wondering what the size of the "Good driver" decal is, anybody with some dimensions? The area is 3-1/2 x 4 inches (W x H)... Thanks.

    Fitting more gauges...

Still messing with the illumination, there is a mix of clear and red incandescent and LED backlight and I'm also playing with some sort of front lighting... aua

Pinholes in Air and Fuel Tank

I wouldn't trust a "patch" on the air tank(s). Your brakes depend on it. Pin holes in the fuel tank may indicate that you have a rust problem and rust in the fuel, even microscopic can damage the fuel plunger in the IP hydraulic head.

Empty trailer from Nevada to New Jersey

Oh, okay, the CJ7 was the important one, the axle can wait since I have to bring a winch to him as a trade anyway. Thanks for the offer.

Empty trailer from Nevada to New Jersey

Mike, my son Adrian wants his CJ7 back in Virginia (it's in Ventura, CA at the moment), if he can get it to you, would you have any problem with dropping it off at my place? I also have an 8x8 axle in OK, but that may be asking too much. :-)

    Light Switch Warm

Ace covered it, contacts don't get warm, the resistor for the dash dimmer function will get warm. If the circuit breaker is running close to 20 amps, it may get warm also and it's time for the relay mod....
