Need Help Understanding An Oil Analysis Report

RE: oilmsampling The LO for the deuce calls for "every 3,000 miles or 3 months, whichever occurs first".

    Return line time

To answer your question, I'm using this McMaster #5112K63. (Recommended by rdiximiller some time ago, thanks!)

    Drive belt date codes ?

I suspect that these numbers represent date codes for the belts (week and year) and if so, they give a pretty good understanding of the maintenace performed over the years. For example, the compressor drive belt was changed in 1975. This for a vehicle that was used at the field artillery...

Need Help Understanding An Oil Analysis Report

On one of my reports, Iron is 104 and Cr is 13 and the note says that there may be cylinder wear indicated. The Aluminum is 16 and Silicon is 7 and the note says that it may be dirt entry. All depends who does the analysis, I guess....

    trans gear ratio math, etc

What speedo adapters are you guys using? My 1100-20 tire, speedo adapter, tach, speedometer and odo set-up is very accurate (plus or minus 1 mph), tested it numerous times agains mile markers, clock and distance on my trips over the years. A 5 or 10% error would not be acceptable. How does the...

    Military drive belt numbers

Just got back from the Advance Auto parts store, to my amazement, they had the military numbers in the computer and pulled up equivalents on the spot. For example, the 11610316 is a Dayco 17510 (I'm putting it here for my own reference). Doesn't get any better than that.

    Military drive belt numbers

Is there a table available crossing mil and commercial drivebelt numbers? Bringing the old belt(s) to the store works too, just wondering.

    Coolant hose lube?

Moving right along from one task to another, finding more and more work on the LDS465-2 engine. Now, I'm past the injection pump, radiator, drivebelts, idler arm, compressor pulley and starting in on the old 2-inch coolant hoses. The projects are piling up, layer after layer. Not complaining...

    Kitchen trailer?

This is from a "change manual" that I happen to have, Change #14...perhaps 75 pages in all.

Good ideas for screw extraction, please

Well, as usual you guys are the greatest! Will Wagner is going to lend me a set of LH bits for the project (saves me a lot of driving and checking McMasters, they are not cheap either). I think that using LH bits is the smartest way to go. As far as making this a "sticky", see Kenny, he has the...

    Trailer recepticle pin outs

Stop and turn signals should be the same, "B" and "J" for left and right respectively. Your turn signal switch keeps track of it all.

Good ideas for screw extraction, please

I like that Leonard. That's what you used on my flywheel wasn't it? I know it worked like a charm.

Good ideas for screw extraction, please

A punch, that's an idea, at least it may loosen it up. Thanks Clinto, I have to watch that "beating it in with a hammer" thing, it's a grade 5 in a casting. Water pumps for the dash two don't exactly grow on trees...

    Tank Pump

Here is the patent. Read all about it. Keep in mind that these pumps have often been in use for 35 years at this time. I haven't really had any problem with them, blew a fuse once, but nothing major....logged thousands of miles.

    Tank Pump

Take off pumps can be found for $75.00 or so, problem is when you have a deadline to meet, then time becomes money and dealers gain.
