In spite of the existence of the document shown by David (above), the Army selected the multifuel engine for the M656/XM757 series 8x8 vehicles.
The late 60's design included many changes, some part of the engines we now play with.
Here are some differences first used in the LDS465-2 (from what...
Thanks David. I still love my multies and wouldn't switch because of past mistreatment.
Looking forward to drive the xm757 with a late design multifuel engine with extra features including the ability to run under water without preps.
Need to figure out why my FDC suddenly started to leak after...
Kenny is correct. It's a "bus" set-up where the same wire going into the box continous straight thru and daisy-chaining is permitted.
For a schematic, see page 2-43 in TM 11-5830-340-30.
I'm getting closer. Need to finish the fuel system, including mounting the non standard tank(s) and aligning the front axles. I'm replacing one of the front torque rods too, which had been torn up, possibly shifting the axle a hair.
RE: Can someone give me more info on what these are like to
Come on guys, there are plenty of other reasons for owning an MV besides trail riding and if we wanted comfort, why even look at one....
If you have answers to questions or experience, respond to the man, please. I'm sure any vehicle...
A demonstartion of how light weight the construction is on this vehicle.
Needed to remove the windshield stowage compartment for access to fuel lines. The whole thing probably doesn't weigh more than 35 lb.
Re: m757
I can get originals, but they would only be good for short trips, any long trip would require newer alternate tires.
BTW, Adam I owe you a response to that biodiesel question, I haven't forgotten.
The oilpan gasket for the deuce should be here tomorrow, so any time after it arrives...
RE: motor
Like I suggested in a different thread, get a 12 vdc starter motor from a junk yard, it can run on 24 volts for a while without a problem.
The ideal pump is the oil pump from a junk multifuel.
Most of the fuel lines are copper on the deuce (and other MV's as well). The feed is 1/2 inch until you get to the ca 1 ft link you replaced, it is 3/8 inch. What you ended up with is standard for size.
The return lines are 3/8 inch copper.
Check out this thread. Keep in mind that the primary fuel filter is a water separator as well and there must be a space below the filter for water.
The Facet number of the correct filter is a -01.
