Blue Body spacers degrading and crumbling

This is a known issue and the newer production mounts have supposedly fixed the premature failures. The body mounts on you’re truck are probably 15yrs or older.

Fuel System Troubleshooting and final resolution (IT WAS THE SOCK)

Start by opening up the filter housing…bring fresh diesel and a 5 gal bucket, you need to validate you’re assumption and go from there. worst case, buy a quick inline filter and bypass the OEM canister, this way you have some level of filtration. Also very well is the inside of the injection...

    1151 armored rear wall

The rear walls ar now being mfg’d privately, if you insist on going the cheaper route of wood? I have the installation kit, but I promise you won’t like the price….LOL

AM general sold excess overrun stock from previous contracts, the side of the business that sold parts was essentially separate from the Production side. MAC motors was never in business to sell parts to civilians, it was to sell parts to the militar as odd as that sounds to a lot of people...

    It's alive!!!

Right, but that’s only where it plugs into the actual TPS, the other plug is at the back of the motor where it connects the engine harness to the body harness and ultimately lands at the TCM plug.

    It's alive!!!

These 3 pins run end to end to the TCM plug, verify these 3 wires are where they should be via a DVOM. I had a truck“ECV” that had the TPS plug at the fuel filter that only after careful observation I had noticed the wires were professionally spliced back to the round plug, this was the only...

Will cheap Harbor Freight tire balancer fit center hub of 2-piece rims.

I’ve somehow managed to run a hmmwv restoration business for the last 15yrs and assembled hundreds of tires and never needed to balance a single one…if a customer wanted them balanced they went to a local shop that was $15ea.

    Tailgate Hinges

You are doing something wrong, cuz I remove a TG a week…and no, you need the shims, they aren’t for looks, they allow the TG to close properly and align to insert the hooks. Rivnut can’t support weight, the current nut is a stover lock nut, so when you put them back on, just use a regular nut...

Transmission Won't Go Into Gear 3 Speed

First mistake is just driving it around without doing any form of PMCS….even starting it without checking oil and trans fluid levels is asking for problems,

    Ambac injection pump

that’s a rebuild tag from the company that did the rebuild.

trying to figure out what usmc unit or where truck was

The M number is the assigned unit number…on Hmmwv’s it’s on the rockers and tailgate, the problem is on the armored trucks is the Rocker armor is removed during Demil.
  16. Retiredwarhorses

trying to figure out what usmc unit or where truck was

Your truck was not IED’d and rebuilt, that’s not something they do to rolling stock items like Hmmwv’s and trucks, Aircraft and Ships are repaired when economically feasible. A truck that’s damaged in county is scrapped…not returned to CONUS.

    Strange Crank No Start Condition

have you tried to move the fuel cut off armature with your finger while the cover is off? Does it “effortlessly“ move and spring back on its own? ANY resistance will deny fuel….
  18. Retiredwarhorses

    Injector Problem?

yea, it’s such a crappy engine it’s still being produced today…42yrs later.

WTH: White Wall tires on Taliban HMMWV?

Many countries do this for military parades, quite common. The U.S. military has had guidance for many moons about spraying diesel fuel to the paint jobs to make the trucks appear wet and clean. Alot of that came about when the military had actual military parades, something we frankly don’t see...
