Finished my troop seats ( thanks Digger ) Also went to the Depot and got a small sample of Behr paint using the codes from another thread on here for 24087. Although I didn't notice the lady that mixed it used flat paint instead of semi-gloss so that's not right, also the codes I had were...
Pulled the truck up in the garage yesterday and began sanding rough spots and feathering chipped paint. I also started repairing some deep gouges in the bumper from being marred by towbars. I used a little bondo after grinding down the rough ridges. Im also sanding the rims. I got the rest of my...
I always kick my tires before going anywhere. Although you may not always be able to see when a tire is near catostrophic failure. One particular time that comes to mind, in Alaska in 2000, I was on a recovery mission, by myself in a M931 with a M172 lowboy. I was going to pickup a 10K forklift...
Got mine yesterday. Awesome book! I like the list of Gun names and bumper numbers...very helpful. Thanks for signing my copy Mr. Lyles, I really appreciate it. [thumbzup]
For me, when I get ready to paint wheels without hitting the tires, I take it off the truck, deflate it, and remove the split-ring and then just tape close to the edge of the tire, as any overspray there would be covered by the split-ring once re-installed. for the other side of the rim, I break...
Id say a 6 ton or better bottlejack would be plenty for lifting a wheel or a set of duals. 6 ton or better jackstands are always good. I use 2 foot long pieces of railroad ties and pressure treated 4X4's or 4X6's if I have to set the truck down off the jack.
And always remember the 3...
Ok..so you have to reduce it by 13 flats...Ive read all these threads about turning up or down the fuel setting, but can anyone here tell me just how many flats should be showing for the stock setting? Im not asking how many up or down I have to turn it, but how many flats are...
Yah, there were 2 missing, but its all good, I already have some located and will be sent out here shortly. Its turning out quite nicely though, dontcha think? Was only 130 bucks for the wood and all the mounting hardware. Took me all of an hour to do the headache rack last night.
Got mostly done with my troop seat replacements. I used redwood so it will last longer and be less likely to warp. Once they are sanded smooth I will paint them along with the bed so. I only did one side and the front this weekend, and once I get two more seat brackets, I will finish the rest...
I fitted the side stakes and troop seat brackets that I aquired from RedBeardTheZombieHunter. Tomorrow, I will affix the new pine slats to both sides and front with all new mounting hardware and prep everything for paint. Hopefully by sunday evening, Ill have a complete, single color (24087) bed...
Boy that lid sure looks good up there...much better then in the bed lol. Looks like a good fit. Ill have to throw up some pics of the frame in place...fits perfect on my truck...Its almost like these trucks were designed to be inter-changeable! Imagine that
Being out here on the front lines of this is getting mighty old let me tell you. Im sure my Kalifornian Komrad's would agree. To me, and the LARGE majority of individuals blessed with common sense, these diesel laws are getting ridiculous. I truly beleive with ever fiber of my mortal being that...
