They also make welding rigs that run off 24v. Chief_919 ( Old Grouch Surplus ) talked about them when he was interviewed on The Survival Podcast. They are a bit spendy though!
The stock system supplies 24v to the GP relay. Using the combination of the large resistors on the firewall and the resistance of all the GPs, that 24v is dropped to about 12v at the GPs. The GPs in the CUCV are not rated for 24v, thus the resistor dance to drop the voltage to a level they can...
I ordered some alternator rebuild kits from them recently. There were no problems placing the order. The parts arrived very quickly and were well packed.
They also provide lots of info on their site for the charging system and GP system. I've also read at least one post where they were very...
Actually, I tried my local AAA office, and they would not touch it. Another local SS member had the same experience. I've read here that there are AAA offices that will do them, but mine will not.
As for the 30 day rule, there is some question about that. This quote comes from the CA DMV page...
The SF-97 came in the mail today, so I went out and got it registered.
The poor vehicle inspection lady had to stand on her toes, while standing on the curb, to even see the VIN tag on the dash, and then got a bit confused when she couldn't find any emission control parts or stickers under the...

Its so cute!
Too bad I'm done for the holiday season. Also, I don't have anyplace to store it, though I don't suppose the HOA would want to argue with me about it!
:funny:
Ok, lets try this again, still failed, now lets disable all Firefox add-ons...
Now to trouble shoot the add-ons, as disabling them seems to have fixed it.
Edited to try again with changes to add-ons... Caffine Kitty says it works now... nothing to see here, move along...
Thanks to...
Along with all the database errors others have seen today, I've also been unable to upload pictures today using Firefox.
Once I do the "Manage Attachments" and "Browse" to the file location and select the file, click the "upload" button, it just sits there, for hours, with the message "waiting...
After much searching and reading here, I'm still left with some questions.
Which shacles were issued for use with the CUCVs? My M1009 came with different shackles on the front than on the rear. From my reading, I think the ones on the back of my truck are the "correct" ones, and the pair on...
Bought new tires last week. I was looking for something not too aggressive, as this truck will probably spend more time on the road then off it. What I wound up with are Falken Rocky Mountain ATS in 33x12.5x15.
There is no lift on the truck at this time, though I'm considering the Rough...
Did you try bypassing the filter capacitor tree next to the wiper motor? You can plug the connector directly into the wiper motor and remove the capacitors from the circuit, they are only there for noise suppression.
