You could by locking hubs for around $650 or get another set of front hubs and have the splines machined out. I think WillWagner had a set of machined out hubs for sale.
You could also remove the front drive shaft, but I don't know enough about the sprague setup to recommend this. My truck...
I just put the new Sylvania headlights in my Blazer about two weeks ago and I agree, they are much brighter!
I also put in the correct amber bulbs for the front parking lights/turn signals. Someone had clear bulbs in there.
I will be using my M1009 Blazer as a temporary daily driver on a 120 mile round trip commute to work on SoCal freeways because Oriental Car needs expensive repairs.
I have good belts and hoses, and I carry spares. The only nagging problem I have with the Blazer is a leaking rear seal on the...
My deuce has about 31,000 miles on it. I've put probably 3,000 miles on the truck in eight years. The previous 28,000 were military service and movie rentals.
So now, at about 400 miles a year, I would say the truck is semi-retired.
The current D turbo deuce I have was free, given to me by a friend who was getting out of the MV hobby - if only I had expressed an interest in his XM818 . I waited a year to register the truck to see if he would change his mind.
I seem to remember paying $4000 for the whistler that ran...
I agree with Recovry4X4 on loading the trailer in the bed backwards. I load my Mule in the deuce this direction. I don't want the foot basket ramming into the cab (or me) if the Mule breaks loose in a panic stop.
Maybe you can drag the one M105 into the deuce bed at a slight angle if the trailer axle won't go in straight. There will be some sliding and scraping.
Glad to help. I have a sweet spot for M211's. When I was 10, an M211 was the first military vehicle I ever rode in. I've been hooked ever since, though I don't own an M211 (yet)8).
Wilber,
The problem you describe might be due to the fact that the M211 has a sprag clutch for front axle engagement. You don't have to shift the front axle in and out to get six wheel drive. When the rear driveshafts spin faster that the front driveshaft, such as when trying to start moving on...
Do you have a manufacturer or model number? I do instrument calibration for a living, so I might be able to tell you more about the scope.
And of course, nopics
My dad and I used an M37 to break the bead on some WWII jeep combat wheels by carefully running over the jeep tire with the front wheel of the M37.
Maybe something like this would work on a larger scale.
I agree with Stump's theory. My first deuce was a nice whistler turbo and ran OK during a test drive on city streets, but it took almost two miles to get to 50 MPH on the freeway. It would not rev over 2200 RPM or so. I also noticed I was flooring it until the engine ran out of poop and then...
