I just wanted to say what a good guy Dave Walker in Hesperia is to do business with. It runs in the family - his son just fixed my POV and saved me over $3k.
Whoa Josh, that sounds like an all-or nothing approach. A braked, but not locked up, tire has better traction and stopping power than a locked up tire. Not to mention the flat spots you're getting on your tires every time you flip that switch. Plus you have to remember to flip that switch...
Looks like this is the kit for M1008/M1009:
C / K Series Military M-1009 Truck / Blazer A/C System - Chevrolet AC Kits for Trucks
Maybe I can talk my wife into this so we can go on more trips in the Blazer during the summer:).
"but it isn't really yours unless your DNA is on it."
As in blood, sweat, tears, patches of skin, and drool. Don't forget about the surgery a few months later to fix the hernia you got working on your deuce [thumbzup].
I was thinking some sort of a small air leak in the fuel system that gets worse as the engine heats up. I would check the return line like jimmcld says and also check the fuel filter cannisters to make sure there are no leaks or cracked gaskets.
I was thinking along the lines of Stan. This would be a great idea for a shelter for the back of the duece. You could get into a camping spot without snagging tree branches and then pop up the camper when you get to the site. Similar to one of those old Alaskan pop up campers.
Hmm, another...
Important question, do you have the chunk that blew out of the block? If so, there is a possibility that it could be welded back on. There are special welding rods for cast iron. You could take the chunk to a good welding shop in the area and discuss it with them. It's possible that some...
$25k? Is he smoking crack?:cookoo:
I suppose this truck is worth more as a piece of construction equipment than as a collectable vehicle. It would be handy for someone in the powerline business.
MV's have been in my family for over 35 years and I prefer stock trucks to bobbed, but to each his own. If someone is going to cut up a truck, then please do it to something like an M35A2, which right now is the Volkswagen Beetle of deuces. I cringe when I hear of someone planning to cut up a...
I think the tach type dash panel is about an inch wider. Some old multifuel trucks use the gasser panel and have the tach mounted to the bottom edge of the dashboard.
I think Boss Doug secretly wants the truck for himself! The truck looks like it might have been ex-fire department judging by the red paint. There are a lot of extra toggle switches on the dash. Is the electrical system still 24 volts or has it been converted to 12 volts?
Gassers are cool...
It probably got desert dust blown into the engine compartment, which I can tell you can happen with just one windstorm out here.
It looks like the oil filler cap is missing. Having that gone for any period of time worries me.
A friend of mine has a gasser in Long Beach, CA. I don't know the year. It's a little rough, but it does run and we take it to local parades.
Before you say nopics, I'll look aroound to see if I have any of this truck.
