ACU, pictured below, does look sort of faded. I understand that it is meant to be a dual purpose uniform and to be used just about anywhere, but that is the weak point I think. In dark areas it almost seems to "glow". I believe that it was designed more to be different and perhaps be less...
It's really not an effective pattern, at least not any where that I have been in the US. Maybe it did work in Vietnam but around here the best pattern is still the old woodland or USMC MARPAT. ACU shows up like you are a ghost in the woods, works minimally in dry grass. Russian Kamyish is...
Tiger stripe was a pattern used on BDUs, not vehicles thought there are similar patterns out there from other nations. M715s were one of two shades of OD Green for either Army or Marines. The one I have was in service with a NG unit long enough to get the 4 color camo pattern in the mid 70s.
Congrats, Chris! I know how big a grin I had when I got my M715 to fire up after it had been sitting for 15 years or so with a bunch of "mechanics" trying to work on it and they never did get it to run. I was very happy when it started to fire and then gradually built up speed and purred right...
RE: no spark
Hmmmm, that looks VERY interesting. I wonder if these things are still being produced or if they are a thing of the past? Temper tents are pretty nice, but the idea of turning on a pump and inflating a house is pretty darn cool. Very nice work and happy birthday, mine was the...
Hmmm, it was bought by someone with the word "mom" in their name and with no previous history and an account 5 months old. Possibly someone just trying to raise the bid on their truck and it backfired. We'll know if it pops back up again.
I'd say that 's the main reason. Most FDs and other local Govt. agencies don't want to have to rebuild major components or replace missing, hard to find parts in order to get a vehicle. Chris, I notice that you have been doing quite a bit of footwork and digging around for the parts that were...
Did not the NHC 250 come in the 900 series 5 tons in front of the Allison? If so it stands to reason that a transmission could be retrofitted to the 800 series with the same engine. The problem is all the controls and related stuff. If the 5 ton's transfer case in the 800 series has the weird...
Make sure you ground to the bed if you are welding on the bed. You can run into trouble if you are welding on the bed and put the ground lead on the frame. Sometimes the current will run around the circuit a bit and can go through your bulbs and blow them. Disconnecting the battery normally...
RE: Re: RE: ATTENTION: [IMG] tags
Sweet! Glad you got that figured out. So basically it just ignores the IMG tag and the URL address is just posted like any other link? That's a pretty good solution really.
Eh, just omitting the button should keep most users from importing the images. Only those of us with prior BB Code knowledge and experience will type the codes and should understand why you are wanting to keep the images uploaded.
Did the template mod Kronos suggested on the Postnuke forum...
Basically, the tags you use to post pics from other sites using it's URL address from the site it is hosted on. For more info, click on the "Post Reply" button and look down to the left for a message that says HTML Code On, BB Code On, and Smilies On. Click on the "BB Code" link and it will...
Is there not a way to disable just the image tags? I know some forum software will let you disable all the BB Code and some will let you pick and choose which codes to block. Might be easier just to take out the IMG tags if possible. Just a thought.
Sure, ad-blocking software does a great job at blocking ads, but it also blocks useful features of our website like our supporting vendors. Their ads help keep Steel Soldiers going. Please consider disabling your ad blockers for the site. Thanks!
