Military use for 6x6 and 8x8 amphibious ATV's?

route6x6.com is another decent source. Attex built an 8x8 used as a tank trainer back in the 60's. I have an old article about them. Certain NATO SOF used MAXII and IV in the 90s as well.

    Very early XM-706

Thanks, Rory. You nailed most of the features. The bracket was for the original jump seat. Other features included flat driver hatches, tapered edges on the firing port covers and the firing port knobs are larger. The lack of left rear engine access door is a real pain. And I don't like the...

    Very early XM-706

A very early 1965 XM-706 in Colorado. I completed this restoration to the owner's request about 6 years ago. No longer any connection but the only early model I know in private ownership. http://www.armyjeeps.net/V100XXX/V100.htm

    My M1 Abrams/Chieftain Mk5 is home!

Never grease the track. It draws in too much grit and will lead to serious wear in no time. Looks like they could use some tightening, however. Looks and sounds great. I drove a IDF one years ago. They loved them. Probably the most reliable Brit MBT ever built. Congrats.

    Headlight problem with our Peacekeeper

Sounds like you likely have a bad ground somewhere in the system. Look around under the hood and find what grounds you can like to the motor and body and disconnect, thoroughly clean of rust and paint then reattach. Replace any rusted wires.

Modern Russian Army in the photos.

The Tu-22 and F-111 are actually 1960's era aircraft with the Tu-22 being more than twice the size, bordering the range of a heavy bomber. It is also still in use with China looking at building it's own version. Used in a similar capacity was our B-52, it is an effective weapon platform for...

You will not find a Sabre capable of that range. As stated, most were used for base/post ops and security, not tactical or field operations.

Belfast is a British city that had British soldiers to protect the citizens from home-grown terrorists/rebels. It was there by request and the only people against it were IRA terrorists. Not unlike what you are claiming for Crimea, which was my point.

A email ???from DLA Disposition Services DLA Disposition Services is conducting a real study looking into selling thousands of 1980-2000 HMMWVs to the public through contractors who will certify DOT specs. A ways off, but could happen: "The DOD expects to excess several thousand HMMWV vehicles...
