Send me a pm with what you're looking for and I will give you the guys phone number. I am making no money from this just trying to save some trucks from going to China.
Trying to save some Deuce and 5 ton parts from going to the scrapyard. A guy local to me is currently scraping out a couple trucks.
What he has left is:
3 Deuce softtop cabs, canvas is shot, bows looked ok
3 Deuce beds with troop seats, 1 has cargo cover
M814 Hardtop Cab, bed, and fenders

To everyone else in this thread emergency lights and (mainly the) siren draw a lot of amps so the normal 720W converter everyone has isn't big enough. Just my siren alone can draw up to almost 200A according to the specs. Which is why (incorrectly IMO) he converted the truck to 12V when he...
Working fine as in you replaced it with a 12V pump? Or working fine as in you just hooked the stock in tank pump up to 12V and its barely pumping fuel if any?
I don't mean to be rude but you do know you now have way under 220A for your lights and siren now that the ENTIRE truck is 12V now...

BAD IDEA! Do not use two batteries of different CCA! The smaller CCA battery will draw down the higher CCA battery and shorten its life. Have had a couple farmers come into work to buy 2 new group 31s because they used two with different CCAs.
Its the same principle when you tap one battery for...
Most welders will put out 25-35 volts max when welding. You should be fine as long as you have a good ground close to where you're welding.
The coiled welding cables is a old welding trick to slightly lower the amperage you're welding with, for when the amps you need is between two settings on...
I have the TMs for it, I'll post them up later tonight or tomorrow.
Edit: Don, do you know you already asked this question 4 months ago? :-P

What does the other end of the receiver tube look like? Is it welded to anything?
I'll try to get a pic of it but the hitch on my '72 K20 is similar. Welded and braced to the bumper, then braced back to the frame
I paid $180 for mine. Brand new tires. Mil plug was bad so I converted it to 12V. Dont know if the brakes work because its missing a few lines and its missing the front jack.
I have a Lincoln 180C and love it! Heavy duty and can support a spool gun. Its about the same price as a Hobart. I paid ~$750 for mine.
The only reason you need a spool gun is if you are doing aluminum, anything else doesn't need one.
