    Soft Top Repair

I used aluminum blind rivets with large heads and "Seals All" adhesive.

Deuce shopping, what are the best options?

The amount of grease and dirt caked on the engine is a better indication of the miles it has than the odometer.

    Need help

Check the fuel return check valve. It is on top of the IP with a hose coming out of it. The valve should depress easily with a pick. Clean with penetrating oil. Also, loosen the bleed screw on the filter and make sure that you are pumping fuel.

24 V CUCV motor in a civi truck

Everyone who says that converting a civilian vehicle only involves a starter change are WRONG and have never looked at a CUCV wiring diagram. First, you will need to add a second alternator with the charge wire to the + terminal of the high battery and the GND terminal to the + side of the low...

Want to convert an A2 to CTIS???

To make the system useful, you would need to add a much larger air compressor to the truck or it would take literally an hour or more to re-inflate 6 or 10 large tires. Next a simple back pressure regulator to the tires with the control knob and a gauge would be all you need for pressure...

    M1009, it's alive! Hahahahaha!

Yea, since they got the trucks for free, they don't want to put any money into them. So when the fuel pump went out on this truck, they just started using it for parts. Also, the driver window and back window were down. Lots of leaves and trash inside. A leaf blower took care of that. The...

    M1009, it's alive! Hahahahaha!

Bought an M1009 from GSA sight unseen. Missing fuel filter and base, glow plugs solenoid, starter, PS pump, one alternator, batteries, and radiator. Oh, and dash pad. Luckily, I had stripped all the parts except for batteries from an M1008 I had parted out (people will pay a LOT of money just...

    Stale Gas

Actually, the gas/WMO will burn in almost any diesel.

    Need a Radiator BAD!!!

Your best bet would be to see if there is a radiator shop in the area that can fix it.

    Looking to buy a deuce!

Where you intend to drive it, lockers will be a waste of money. And they are NOT cheap. Also, as said, the deuce engine doesn't have enough HP to turn 6 wheels.

Serb tank takes a missile hit.....

This has to be my all time favorite. It is a Javelin missile hitting a T-72.

    Treating old diesel fuel

Yea, I was thinking of using it in a deuce since it doesn't much care what you pour into it. The tanks seems to be about half full so I have about 13 gallons.

    PITA starter

I don't know where it went, but you can download the -20 tech manual and go waaaaay down to about page 900 or so and view the wiring diagrams. It probably goes to one of the alternators.

    Can this be right ????

Other M101's are listed at 1340#,

    Treating old diesel fuel

    That is what I figured.

    Treating old diesel fuel

This really isn't a CUCV specific question, but since the old fuel is in an M1009, this is as good a place as any to ask. A google search revealed that diesel can degrade and grow algae, both of which can degrade and cause problems. My question is this, is there a product that can be added to...

    Converting cucv electrical system.

The problem is that the only thing on the CUCV that is 24vdc is the starter. You still need 12vdc for everything else.

Anybody ever convert M36 to troop seats?

No, the M36 bed is several feet longer than the M35. Racks and troop seats will not fit. At least not the full length.

    Molested CUCV's

If possible you REALLY need to preview the vehicles on GSA. They have a nasty habit of putting vehicles in the normal category when they should be in the Scrap/Salvage category. One M1009 I bought was missing the doors, seats, gauges, dash pad, alternators, PS pump, radiator, and many other parts.
