I have had good luck with rotating them even after the threads disengage. The faster the better. A air ratchet or inpact spinning them while you gently lift and pull back will turn the high spots/ carbon off of them like a lathe. You will neede alot of patience too.
I use the ANCO 25-11 wipers. They still sell them here in houston. I have them on my M35 and My M52. Really any brand you like will work as long as they are 11 inches long and come with adaptors. I have used other drands also. Just remove the original metal adaptor and side the one that comes...
It's funny, I have a 82 3/4 Ton 4X4 GMC. With a 6.2 banks turbo, 4speed manual and 3.40 gears. It's very close to a CUCV. Although it's much faster, quieter and has double the range with two fuel tanks. I still love my 1028 more. Mabye it's the blackout lights i don't know. But i rather drive it...
I painted my M35 with CARC a couple of years ago. I used a $20 paint gun from northern equipment. And thinned it 25%. I regulated the gun down to 30PSI. It came out well. It's very forgiving paint, meaning it doesen't run very easy. It takes most of the day to dry even in the sun. I'm here in...
Couln't you get a transfercase from a fuel truck, Dump truck, Or pole setter truck with a PTO on the transfercase? Then you could keep the two seperate. The winch on the tranny. And the pump on the transfercase. Or, get a universal hyd belt drive pump from northern equip. Then just mount it...
Jesse. The original kit runs the slobber tube up next to the snorkle. There is a hole drilled into the side panel close to the air intake for this tube. I could see a vacume produced by the exaust gas flowing at higher RPM's to pull the cranckcase fumes out. But at idle wouldn't the exaust push...
Kevin,
The waste gated turbo will move more CFM's at lower engine speeds. It will provide more power when pulling heavy loads. But as engine speed and turbo speed increase the waste gate will open and will preform very close to the "D" model. If you pull heavy loads with your M52A2 you will be...
I can add a little to the serien idea. I coworker of mine had is sports car stolen and stripped then recovered 4 times. Untill he decided to install the alarm speaker under the dash. Although the car has been broken into since then, it hasen't been stolen or lost another radio since. I guess...
If the engine is smoking all the time. There is a good chance the waste gate for the turbo is stuck in the open position. This lets the exaust gas bypass the turbine and go strait out the exaust. Causing a low boost condition. You also might check the injectors. Or at least run some cleaner...
Im only getting 14VOLTS at the plug. Shouldn't i be getting 24 for the military trailor lights? Everything is working with a voltmeter. Stop, turn, blackouts, etc. But the lights are very dim. Is this normal?
!st deuce is right about the early 6.2 heads. They crack easy. You can tell by the threads on the injectors. They only made them in 82 so they are rare. You can bolt these heads on with on problems. And never know the difference. If you need a oil feed for a turbo use the 1/4 NPT port at the...
I have owned many civi and military 6.2's and one 6.5. They all have had the bore for a pilot bushing/bearing. There has also been mention of a cast crank in these engines. Mine have all been fordged. Even my first 82 half ton 6.2 that was a ''C" with a 700R4 behind it.
I just installed a 6.2...
Mine started leaking about 2 years ago. I took it off and went to a truck parts place called TRUCK PRO. The had it in stock and it was $12. They called it a flapper valve. Although the handle was crome it was otherwise the same. It works great.
I can tell you that with a D turbo, a muffler, and a hard top, that it is much quieter in the cab. The loudest part now is the gear whine from the tranny and transfercase. Don't get me wrong you can still hear the engine running, but it is possable to talk while driving without yelling. If your...
Alot of these engines were forced to burn JP when they were in service. And that is drier than ULSD. Not to mention the #1 diesel yall get up north when it gets cold. There has been alot of discussion if the DB2 pump could handle this fuel when they started selling it a few years ago.
There...
I'm with ranch hopper. That's a simptom of a plugged fuel filter. And or a lift pump going bad. Check the oil for diesel in it. If the fuel pump is going bad it will leak fuel into the crankcase.
Inspect the rubber between the inner and outer rings. Look for dry rot and cracks. Try moving the outer ring with your fingers. Cracks in the rubber may appear when you move it around by hand. It shouldn't hardly move at all by hand.
