Most likely the outer seal has failed. The gear oil from the differential will travel down the axle tube and pool on the outside of the outer seal. If the outer seal doesn't seal against the hub the differential oil will seep past and contaminate the bearing grease.
When I had to replace my pump I went to NAPA and picked up a couple packs of the assorted gasket material and made one. Pretty easy to make. I always keep a pack in the deuce just in case. Paint work looks good. I replaced my plates and decals but really need to repaint.
Nice looking truck and trailer combo.[thumbzup] FYI you can install the winter boot kits on the transmission shifter and transfer case shifter to not only keep out the cold air in the winter but also the hot air in the summer. Also the cargo cover on the trailer is on backwards.
Well sit back and do some reading. Lots of different thoughts on type of boots and where to purchase them..

The core TM is 9-2320-361-34, chapter 4, section 4-1. If you refer to the "Equipment Condition" statement at the start of each section it will list previous steps you need to preform. Hope this helps.
I will be interested to see how your deuce looks in fresh 4 color MERDC. I have been thinking about going to the Winter US & Europe-Verdant or Summer US & Europe-Verdant just for something a little different than the 3 color.
Would something like these outlets work. Mount to the dog house and you could rotate forward to use as defrost or rotate back to direct air to the driver / codriver stations. Just a thought.

Can't tell from the pic but if the heater box is located near the engine, kind of how the deuce heater is under the hood, it could just blow more hot air in the cab. Just a thought on my part.
Although I haven't installed it yet it's been recommended to install the outer seal used on the rear spindle on the front to help seal the front bearings from dirt / water contamination. The logic would make sense because you end up sealing the bearing cavity on both sides just like the rear axles.
