Hard to say until you replace the drive shaft and do an operational check. I think I would put the winch and PTO in the Neutral postion and turn by hand to check and make sure eveything spins nicely first. If you get any strange noises or it feels funny, time to disassemble and look further.

Sounds as though the problem could be in the turn signal switch. Even though your left turn light flashes, in the neutral position (center, no turn) the brake lights are still routed through the turn signal switch. A disassembly and cleaning may be in order.
I put a 623 and a 1691 in my armor light, that is what was in there. I thought I got a good deal on eBay, but www.1000bulbs.com seems to be the place for our 24 volt lamp needs.
