Actually the top float controls the aux fuel pump. When it floats to the top it cuts the pump off and when it falls to the bottom it activates the pump. The lower float controls the low fuel fault indicator so it does not run the generator dry of fuel. He does have the 002a which is just a 1...
How far down is the pitting in the cylinder wall? Is it centralized or does it extend the entire length of the wall. Its hard since we are not there to see first hand. Third picture from the left doesn't look good but it may be minor. I do not believe the pitting will cause problems to your new...
If its not the cap that everyone is stating, then there is an o-ring that mates the water pump plate to the block, that is located right above your arrow. You have to pull the pump and plate to get to the o-ring.
You can take the top radiator hose off, at the thermostat housing and take a glance in, to see if it has the thermostat inside. Some units I get in are missing the thermostats. I've only had 1 unit where the thermostat stuck open causing the same issue. Just FYI you can buy a thermostat for a...
I get head gaskets off ebay, DPEquipment sells them. If you look at your head gasket, there will be a tab with holes in it. The ones DPEquipment sells are OE with 2 holes in the tab. The holes in the tab tell the thickness of the head gasket. I believe there are 2 different head gasket used but...
If you have soaked them long enough in some sort of rust dissolvent, like PB Blaster, transmission fluid, Evapo-rust, etc, they will release. The will usually release no matter what, with the heat of the motor after running.
Doesn't look to bad from the picture. Put some transmission fluid, mystery oil, wd40, or anything you like in the cylinders to loosen it up. Then you can use evapo-rust (I think that is how you spell it) to get the rust out, finally run a hone in the cylinder for about 10 seconds. Should be...
Some of the guys will let you try to turn the motor over with a socket and some will not. I don't believe the are supposed to let you. But if you can move the fan or crank with your hand more than an inch you should be good. Ideally you would want to make a complete revolution but that may not...
Did you notice any water in the crankcase? I actually just took my lunch from work and pulled the head off one unit. It wasn't bad at all, really looks like, this one just sat along time and the rings froze to the cylinder. I filled the cylinders with mystery oil and going to let it sit over...
Put a socket on the crank and try to turn it over. It doesn't take a lot of force to turn over a free motor.
I just got 4 units out of Lockbourne last month and 2 had seized motors before the GL worker cranked the motor over. The auction stated motor turns and when I tried to turn the...
Just to give everyone fair warning, I bought 4 generators from GL in December and the ads stated motor turns. I get them in and 2 of them are hard to turn over by hand. I hit the dead crank on one of the 2 hard turners and it sounds weird so I stop because I bet water got into the exhaust and...
FU2 is the voltage regulator Fuse I believe. I don't have the manuals in front of me now. Some models have the FU2 fuse and some of the older models do not. It would be located to the left of the voltage regulator mounted right beside it.
