To get my cluster off, I pulled a little slack out of the speedo cable and pushed it through the firewall. It was only 3/4 inch, but it was enough to squeeze my hand back there and unplug the speedo. I found a bunch of my light sockets were corroded and I sanded the brass contacts with some...
If you don't have a brass hammer, thread a lug nut on a few threads before you hit the studs. To beat them back in, i set the hub face on a board and drive the studs from behind with a hammer and punch. I have friends who press them in, but I have never had a stud come loose,
I picked up a M1009 from GL last week. It runs, but is hard to start. All of the glow plugs were swollen and had to be pulled with one of those poorly made threaded pulling tools.
I drove it around last night for a while and something about the clunking of the solenoid bothered me. I...
Your lift looks right. The 11411 springs have a 1.5" eyelet on the front and a 1.12" eyelet on the rear.
Different spring batches all have the same spring rate. You should be able to mix any of the same part number springs as long as they come from the same spring producer.
Drive it around...
My first EUC from december took 74 days to come back. My last one for event 5127 took 6 days. I figured I had at least a month before needing room for the M1009. Time to get some space cleared out.
YAY GL!!

I love the blazer. Drop the top on the nice days and let the diesel fumes blow into your hair.
I bought a 1028 so I could throw the axles under my 1009. Now its time for the 37's and hummer beadlocks...

I bought a 1028 from GL in Warner Robins back in Jan. I picked it up last week. with a couple of optimas, new glow plugs, and a glow plug solenoid, It fired right up.
on the test drive, it wouldn't shift up from first gear. The governor seems to work fine, and the modulator valve is good...
4wheel parts priced me the kit for around 2100 bucks and they said it was only 10 bucks to ship it to their store. Banks quoted me 2100 plus shipping for one in a nasty box last time they had their rebox sale.
I loaded the 1028 today. John at warner Robins is cool. he let us load on a day that they normally don't. He even brought over another cucv with slave cables to jump us off.
I finally got my email approval. 75 days for the first time.
The letter stated that they were doing a check on me and that I should review the rules for resale. It wasn't one to respond to and didn't actually give any real information.
Now I have 10 days to get a truck at warner robbins, a...
To raise the truck 3 inches, you will need a shackle that is 6 inches longer than stock.
This will change the pinion angle of the truck. it will throw your pinion downward, making the driveline angle worse.
Your caster will also be off on the truck making it not want to return to center...
EUC sent on 1/4/10.
I got a letter in the mail today from Fort Belvoir saying they were running a check on me.
Almost 70 days for my first EUC and still waiting.
YAY!

I bought my 01 Ford Excursion from those guys. It came from a govt auction as it was a GSA vehicle. Great price and great service. I saw the prices on the 1031s and was shocked. My excursion wasn't much more than what they are asking.
I use a prybar on the ring gear bolts and lever them against the housing. you can control how fast it comes out. I have use a come along on an F350 that had grenaded inside the axle.
To replace the diff, try a brass hammer to tap the carrier and shims back in. If you use the bearing cap...
The first thing I would do is throw batteries in it, check fluids and get a key. I have seen quite a few trucks at DRMO that were "not running" because they didnt have keys and were drained of oil and ccolant for storage.
Here is link to an install article.
Jeepin.com: Detroit's EZ Locker
you basically remove the spider gears in the carrier and install the locker. The locker uses springs to hold the side gears against each other. This will transfer power to both wheels. Since the springs are not that big...
I have used Auburn limited slips in the front before. It is a great setup. I would not buy a used one because they cannot be rebuilt, and someone may have run it without additive.
have you thought about a "lunchbox" locker like an EZ or Aussie? I have used these in the front of blazers...
