    Hmmwv rear brake calipers

Noticed one of my calipers leaking this morning. It's the right rear and has the emergency brake built in. The rubber sleeve around the piston appears to be where the leak is coming from. The question is, has anybody taken a shot at trying to rebuilt one of these calipers? If so where did...

Spray gun tip size for Carc?

I'm shooting some of my vehicles and doors. I got a Husky HVLP kit from HD. It did a pretty good job but the pattern is about 1/2 of what I expect. The guns come with 1.4 tips. I think I need a 1.9. (I'd like to try a larger tip without thinning it first.) Curious as to the size tip others...

Air pressure light and alarm won't turn off

Picking up on this thread as I'm starting to have flaky results with my alarm. Now it's not shutting off until 110 psi then it's kind of random when it comes on and off. I took one off and curious as if anybody else has tried cleaning and what can be used? Air, brake cleaner, pipe brush etc...

    Looks more like 1.5"

    2" glass options

I'll go take a picture, but I don't think it's going to be easy to tell how thick the glass is with just a picture. At a demil place where I get parts, the slants in there have this thickness of glass. To be bullet proof, wouldn't you need 2"? I'll get the pix if it's still light enough...

    2" glass options

1.5" glass options I've got an M1025 I'm getting ready to start going through. The windshields I think are 2" ballistic glass. I've only seen one setup out of vegas but didn't care for the price. I'm curious as to if anybody else has ever tried to find a place that could custom cut 2" glass...

    Turret setup questions

I just ordered a MK64 setup for one slantback but curious as to what others would recommend as I have two more I'm going to start work on. Also, i'm not 100% sure the rules on talking about an M2 on here but I've been looking at M2HB resin replica's, steel replica's and actual semi-auto...

    M1123 Purchase Experience

I'm pretty sure the guy selling these is on Steel Soldiers. If so he's a good guy. Look in the classifieds. He sells the door latch kits. Also, on ebay he has the ecv hood and parts for sale. (I can't recall his SS username or I'd share.) I think he is actually making the fiberglass tops...

UV 383 Green and Tan Bedliner options 2016

I've been searching for a while and see several threads but most are older. I'm looking to do something with my HMMWV beds and possibly a M923 bed. Inside the Hmmwv's, I want to do the bed and possible the entire top of the drive train hump. Then possibly doing the floors instead of the floor...

    Paint Hmmwv with chips

I've been reading through threads and most responses are chemical strip, sanding. As with others, I've got 3 of these I'm working on and majority of the paint is stuck good, but in others chips. I'm thinking of sanding and trying to feather around the chips and using something like POR 15 with...

    Red Dot AC questions

Ok, I installed a new condenser today and finally think I got the AC working. For anybody else interested, the condenser fans come on when the high side hit's 300, or at least on mine. Today in the 60's, raining outside, low side is around 40. Filled the freon up until the bubbles went away...

Replacing steering wheel & Horn wire

Does anybody know where you can find the spring that goes under the steering wheel inside the housing, around the shaft. It's the one that steering wheel compresses onto, not the spring under the horn button.

Replacing steering wheel & Horn wire

Ok, I got everything off and it wasn't that bad. Basically, take the bottom shaft off going to the steering box and then the other mounts and pull the steering gear housing up from the cab. On the bottom, there is a circle clip, that was the biggest pain to get off an back on. Once the clip...

Replacing steering wheel & Horn wire

Thanks for the info. I'm not quite clear on some of it. I've taken some pictures of what I have apart. I took this off at the base of the steering shaft inside. You can see the hole at the top I think the above is the Horn Contact Brush and cover. Are you saying there is a slip ring inside...

Replacing steering wheel & Horn wire

I got a new steering wheel. I finally got the old one off. Trying to put the new on on, I found shaft slides up and down and stays down unless you're holding it. The problem there is really no way to hold it. Thus with the spring in place, you can't get the steering wheel down the shaft far...

    Red Dot AC questions

IGM, Finally got the system vacuumed, changed out the dryer, vacuumed again. I added PAG 100 oil as I can't find any SP-15. I found a crossover link online, not sure if it's correct, but it recommended PAG 100 if changing to R134a and compressor indicated SP-15. I then started charging...

Is there a PAG equivalent to SP-15 Compressor oil

Got everything to pull down my Red Dot AC system and ready to recharge it. I purchased PAG compressor or but in reading on the side it calls for SP-15. Haven't been able to find it around here. I'm recharging with R134a and from what I can tell PAG 100 seems to be the standard? Curious to...

Where to find doors and how much?

You live in Wilmington, NC with Southern Metals advertising on craigslist and ebay for engines. They have other parts too which include soft and hard doors. Check with them first.

    Red Dot AC questions

High side is up and down. See it go as high as 375 and come back down to 300. The filter dryer is getting hot, really hot. I'm getting a new filter dryer, trying to get a evacuator and then a vacuum pump etc, pull everything out, vacuum and start again. I'm guessing if the high side is...
