When do you go and pick up? I'm headed back to the GL site tomorrow to look over some other trucks with Joe - let me know your lot if you want me to look something over for you.
Brought a bill of sale with me, insurance paperwork and the plates from my friends M923A2.. Not quite legal but I was told I couldn't get a PA temp tag to move it from out of state. Seems silly but I didn't push it.
I picked up the 2011 Rebuild M923A2 I won earlier in the month from GL's Truck Center in New Castle Delaware last week. The truck looked complete, was driven to the lot, started and ran in the video and had no flats. I took the chance on bidding sight unseen and it paid off.
Gl was great to...

I hear you - but that's the price for a trashed HMMWV that is 25 years old in today's market... Hummers were selling new at $140k in 2006 and prices even on early 90's Hummers are in the high 20's and climbing. My 2000 Hummer is 13 years old and probably would sell very quickly at 40k.
i admit...
If you haven't checked out the HUMVEE-C Series site linked above for specifics, please do.
Basically this is the current REV platform - three piece frame, current body and mechanicals - including cooling stack, with the civvie soft-top rollbar setup - less the engine/transmission/t-case. They...
About the only thing in a base HMMWV that can pull power when the truck is off is the KDS box under the dash, and the lights.
To start, I would charge the batteries. Put a digital AMP meter in series with the negative post on the rear battery to the shunt (disconnecting the heavy cable). What...
Actually there is a serial number stamped on the body on top of the A-beam on the drivers side below the windsheild. That number matches the data plate on the side. I have yet to find a serial number on the frame - but that doesn't mean there isn't one.
The rheostat could be the problem if it's shorted. A simple resistance check across the outputs of the voltage adjustment resistor R1 should tell you if it's working or not. You may need to disconnect a leg, but from the schematic only one.
1 for 4 - out of the auction.
One: MEP-002A - I don't know how long it has been sitting, but basically had varnish in the tank and lines. No oil, batteries, or filters. 546 hours. Lots of gunk in the tank - which I made the mistake of cleaning. Tank immediately started to leak. New tank...
Got the new glow plugs in today, with copper anti seize. Checked the resistance of the air intake glows - about 4 or 5 ohms each, so I left them alone. Primed the fuel, held the glow for 40 seconds and it fired right up! About 30 out at the time, so the full minute not needed unless it is very...
Suggestion 2 and 3 worked! I drilled out (LH bit) the guts of the glow plug and tried an easy out. It just spun, used the next size up, drill and easy0out. It grabbed but flexed too much as I tried to back out the plug. Went to the biggest LH bit and easy out in my kit - and you can see the...
Thanks for those suggestions. The glow plug itself is still in the head, and just spins around the heating element. I haven't tried to pull the element out and leaving the threaded body to be able to LH drill it. I guess I have nothing to loose by doing so, since worst case is pulling the...
I had a bad glow plug in the haed and decided to replace it today. I used penetrating oil several times over the past few weeks and today managed to twist the head off while trying to remove it.
I'm assuming my only option at this point is to remove the head and have a machine shop drill out...
Does anyone know how to remove the filter on a 701a? The nut on top is under cover and from eyeballing it, it doesn't seem accessible?
Any tricks to getting access?

Here are all the cross references for that fuel filter.
