Here is another Dynomax unit many have used. It's $42 (vs $90 for the other Dynomax? don't know what the difference is) and fits behind the factory heat shield, so It's not really noticable.

I bought a Napa 3511 and it does not look like the original primary filter. The center hole through the original stock filter is roughtly 1/2", the 3511 filter has about a 1" through the center, and the Napa one was slightly longer also. Does that sound right?? or did Napa miss package the box...
I've looked at the same one, but in 24v. Radio Shack has 95db buzzers in 24v for around $15 and it would keep you from having to watch the gauge, just set to buzzer 50 degrees lower then max.
I've seen them mysteriously pull larger items (like trucks) that haven't gone as $$ high as they wanted them to before closing also. Just not sure about smaller things like pumps, generators, tool boxes and such
Just curious- So GL's minimum bid is $150, and some items just are not worth that and don't sell. Some items with no bidders at all. So what does GL do with them? Just relist them? Scrap them? Or combine them with other similar unsold items to make for a more valuable lot worth $150?
Plan on getting radial tires, MUCH better in the snow, stock tires are not good for ice. The narrower radials, like 11-20's will fit on stock rims and can be run as singles. Good surplus ones can be found for $150-200 x6.
Does anyone make a larger size of this unit? Seems like a good idea, but 92 foot pounds does seems a little low, probably on the low end of adaquate for parking lot use. For the trouble to install, a bigger gain, say 150-200 foot pounds would be nice.
I agree.
I also think there may be an issue with the stock heater not raising the temp of the incoming outside air enough when it's very cold because it is moving to much air to get enough heat gain. It would be interesting to block some of the heater input (outside the vehicle- maybe with a...
As previously stated, insulation is everything (to keep the heat in in the winter and the heat out in the summer). Spray the back of the cab with rubberized undercoating and maybe the inside of the doors, 3M makes a good one, this will make a big difference. Plugging the holes in the firewall...
I like the idea of the locking replacement handles, but have yet to find one of high quality; most are imports that are light weight and of poor quality with very crappy locks (the 4 disc kind that any key or screwdriver will open when giggled around). If anyone knows of a high quality one, I'm...
When I painted my truck sand (with CARC over original sand carc) I was surprised how redish it looked. I drove it down to the Army Guard base and parked it between a newer FMTV and a 925A2, stood back and looked at all 3 and they were the exact same color. Has anyone else noticed this? Is...
I like the oil pan heater. Here is a quote I saw about them "I'd rather start my engine with 60°f oil temp and a cold top end than a 60° top end and sub zero oil temp". One additional thought would be to insulate the heater with a reflective foil/insulator, as 50% of the heat currently...
There are several versions of the multi-fuel. Power ratings are as follows:
Power Output:
LDT: 134 hp-330 lbs/ft
LDS: 180 hp-440 lbs/ft
210 version: 210 hp- 515 lbs/ft
The 210hp versions were used in several less common military vehicles (although some sources claim 205-215hp).
