In regards to the dash layout on the new Deuce, I think it might have been a gasser at some point in it's life. It looks similar to my Reo in the layout, and the panel is a flat piece instead of embossed like later trucks. I'll have to explore it further.

Ranchhopper, I was bidding on that one up until the 1200 or so mark. It looked quite nice.

Jim, Sorry about that, I almost bid on a few of those that had been singled out, but stuck with this one as we needed a cargo cover on it. Not a bad deal on those, a few in KY look to have went real cheap. The M35A3 went for somewhere in the mid $8000 range.

I picked up a decent looking Deuce in KY. Nice and close, and I think a buddy already wants it, so it probably won't stick around, but it went for nothing for as nice as it looks. Out the door, taxes, GL and tags for under $1400. Air shift, heat and a new CARC job, can't beat it with a stick.

I agree, I don't want to scrap it, but it's got to go soon. A few have PM'd me all I want for the block is jsut scrap value I suppose, can't be more than $100 or so.

So I'm pulling the small external parts off a canned Cummins 250 I bought from GL. I was considering holding on to the whole thing, but there's no place to put it at the time, and it can't sit in the back of my M814 forever. So far I've pulled the alternator, PS pump, starter, both manifolds...

It was kind of sad actually, the whole deal is outside, and exposed to the weather, it had more the feel of a military scrap yard in some ways, however some pieces, the planes etc were in excellent condition.

My wife and I wandered around through Israel in a rental car for the past few weeks, and I was suprised at the number of M35s, M813s, and other trucks, and armor I saw. I've attached a few pictures, too tired right now for much else!

Hey, seriously, drop it off here on your way south, it can hang out with the M109 and M814 for the winter, and I'll make sure to take it on a nice drive ever two weeks just to make sure she's happy. I'm just a few hours south, and there's plenty of room to store it here.

I'll 2nd the 5-ton. It can move loads far heavier than I would put on the Deuce, and do it with far more style :-)
