Solenoid is part of glow plug system. Lots of info already posted in previous theads. The fuses at the power buses are not stock, probably go to aftermarket lights or such. They may be a red herring, follow the fused wires and make sure they are not grounding out. Those starter relays are...
I would load test both batteries or just put in two you know are good. Starter won't kick in unless it has close to the full 24v. Just got a 1009 from GL, had similar problems(though no cut wires) front battery had bad cell. New battery, all ok.
I did a frame off on a 66 k-20. It had a 292 chevy and 4:56 gears. 4 sp manual. great truck, but rusted from the inside out, no matter what I did. The GMCs often had the V6 305 or 351s. A very good gas motor, used in a lot of school buses of the era if looking for parts. The 6.2 will be...
Try Cole Hersee Co pt #24612. supposed to be the best and USA made. That is what I have been using, ordered from my local independent auto parts store. Probably you can find internet as well.
The shiny lugs on u joint indicate some slop in the connection. When you replace the u joint, you should get new hardware (bolts & straps) These are available, just say you want u joint straps for a 84- 86 k-30. Some oem u joints had no grease fittings. If the truck is very high mileage, and...
I have 2 civy 6,2s, a k-10 and a k-30 that came stock with 2 tanks. the second tank is exactly like the normal one but on the other side. GM made a tank switch, mounted in the frame, run by a 2 position switch on dash. Should be easy to find. Would take a bit of body work to add fuel door...
As mentioned many times, the fuel filter base had an upgrade that was not installed in many CUCVs.I believe OEM surplus still has the mill spec NOS improved filter bases. I think they are about $60 with filter plus shipping. One spin on option is to get a filter base from a civy 6.2 truck from...
Make sure it is in neutral, both tranny and transfer case. then check the u joints. Check transfer case and differential for correct oil levels. There is some play in the locking rear axel that is normal. If it is not getting worse or making more noise, relax and enjoy the ride.
Sometimes this happens if in 4wd esp low range, if you put in park and there are tensions between axels, with locker in the back and limated slip in front. If level and soft ground, should not happen. I would not worry about it. If this is happening in 2wd, you may have other problems...
Hope that is your field. Over 30 years ago I was 4 wheelin in my first mv, a 1943 Willys MB. Pulled off the road in a rural area in, I think, southern Ill. Looked like dirt to me. Turned out it was a freshly planted onion field. The farmer caught me and was surprisingly forgiving. I have...
Hope your problems are solved. Most bases are covered. I did have a injection pump failure in a civi 6.2 that could go for short jumps and stall. The input shaft came apart when I took the pump off the engine. Not your normal IP failure. Hope this is not you problem.
I think you are in the right track, the new filter base is likely to solve your problem. If not it is probably an air leak in one of the rubber hoses or a worn out fuel lift pump.
Thanks for that. It is the well motor that is my major concern. Perhaps I can use known gas generator to run well and the 701 to keep the freezers running.
