M1152 400 Amp alternator voltage jumping.

The box we are talking about is the EESS box in the space above the pedals, would not be dependent of alt, but would explain why some see the pulsing on the volt meter and some do not, the boxes that reduce the voltage to the glow plugs would not cause the volt meter to move back and forth. JUST...

M1152 400 Amp alternator voltage jumping.

It's called "afterglow" As I understand some boxes reduce the voltage to the glow plugs for afterglow and others pulse the plugs on and off.

160 AMP 24 Volt - HMMWV - Alternator Upgrade Kit

I do not know of any "kits" maybe others do, I just source the bearing as I go, I always use German, US or Japanese manufacture, in that order. You may want to make sure nothing is getting into the fan at the rear of the alt. and that all the mounting bolts are tight

160 AMP 24 Volt - HMMWV - Alternator Upgrade Kit

And they want to sell you a grounding kit, keep the 200A it is a good alternator, sometimes bearings fail, all part of maintenance.

    Advice Please: Planning 4L80 Conversion

All 4L80s are 4L80Es Most likely the stand alone controller is going to need RPM and TPS input from the engine EDIT, if you actually have the 242 TC then you can use stock A2 drive shafts, I think you will have to replace the rear diff, yoke But your M998 came with a 218 TC, with the correct...

160 AMP 24 Volt - HMMWV - Alternator Upgrade Kit

If you have a 60A and you hear a squeal it is most likely belts. If you have V belts the conversion will require multiple matched belts specific for this kit, one V belt will not drive a 160A alternator

160 AMP 24 Volt - HMMWV - Alternator Upgrade Kit

What alternator do you have now? This says it is for an upgrade for the 60A, but it has a serpentine belt, if you have a 60A it has V belts, if you have an A2 truck with the 200A you will lose the 12V balancing act the 200A does so you can power the transmission on 12V Ether way it will not...

    Correct 1982 Army green

So far the green that I have uncovered appears to be darker than 303. The FAVs were delivered to FT Lewis in 1982 and were painted (Ferris metals and fiberglass only) black, they were then taken into a secure building and modified for combat. The personnel on the base referred to that building...

What happened with the P400 & is it really that good?

The P400 had a girdle to strengthen the lower end and some other mods (some "claimed" mods are on all GEP engines like forged cranks) If making 250HP (must be electronic, cannot do it with the DB2 IP) instead of 205HP which can be done with the DB2 IP GEP engine is important. I guess they...

Going to hook at my first HMMWV Today!

Well there is not much to see from the outside, if it is a big ball of rust would be the only visible indication from the outside, or leaking It is really hard to tell someone what to look for as there is so much that can and in some cases not be a problem. If it does not start and run and drive...

    Correct 1982 Army green

I was thinking 24087 but that did not come up because I forgot it is semi gloss and I was searching flat, I knew it was a something 087, that is what I painted one of my Unimogs, like that color and then it was dirt cheap surplus.

If it does not run well do not buy it, you can remove the dog house and inspect the IP from the rear (look for rust on the bottom of the IP for one thing), but you should inspect everything, gear hubs, half shafts. Tell them you want it cold when you come to look at it and as stated above watch...

Also you need to budget a new set of tires, just about all trucks coming out of DRMO have very old tires, the ones out of CA are known to almost all have tire issues.

If the listing says it needs a fuel filter that is a huge red flag, if it needed one they would have replaced it, I suspect they are trying to cover up something else.

Does it run? I suspect if it is listed as needing a fuel filter it ether does not run or runs poorly in ether of those cases it will probably need an IP pump replaced, (read 2K or so total) many "pretty" trucks out of CA have bad pumps because they used JP in them. Don't worry about accessories...

    Correct 1982 Army green

I did find this.. When the Army adopted CARC in 1983, it issued a set of guidelines on how the transition from alkyd to CARC was to transpire. The transition began in October 1985 (start of Fiscal Year 1986) for systems already in the field. The guidelines were as follows:

If so I would assume 34087 would be correct

Is 34094 (383) the correct color as used in 1982 on Army vehicles? Thanks
