The box we are talking about is the EESS box in the space above the pedals, would not be dependent of alt, but would explain why some see the pulsing on the volt meter and some do not, the boxes that reduce the voltage to the glow plugs would not cause the volt meter to move back and forth.

If you have a 60A and you hear a squeal it is most likely belts.
If you have V belts the conversion will require multiple matched belts specific for this kit, one V belt will not drive a 160A alternator
What alternator do you have now?
This says it is for an upgrade for the 60A, but it has a serpentine belt, if you have a 60A it has V belts, if you have an A2 truck with the 200A you will lose the 12V balancing act the 200A does so you can power the transmission on 12V

Also you need to budget a new set of tires, just about all trucks coming out of DRMO have very old tires, the ones out of CA are known to almost all have tire issues.
If the listing says it needs a fuel filter that is a huge red flag, if it needed one they would have replaced it, I suspect they are trying to cover up something else.
Does it run? I suspect if it is listed as needing a fuel filter it ether does not run or runs poorly in ether of those cases it will probably need an IP pump replaced, (read 2K or so total) many "pretty" trucks out of CA have bad pumps because they used JP in them.
