I've got a injector pop off tester at work, if I remember, I will test both the single and dual nozzle injectors. The old guy at work who's been putting LDS motors together for 30 years for us always puts the dual hole injectors in the motors. Must be a reason...
I am tracing wires to see how things function
1. There are some disconnected wires on the speedo head(attached to the transfer case). Not sure what it's for?
2. The air dryer heater wires on the air dryer assembly. Where does it get its power and when?
3. Transmission sensors/senders...
Rumor- I did hear that the DRMO's were removing the fuses on the CTIS systems.
You are better off removing the entire CTIS system, that's what we are doing with all of our fire trucks... You are going to have flat tires on an incident, or never get to it!
So, I removed all the tire inflation stuff off one of our M35A3's, including chipping away the JB weld on the spindle. I changed the inner and outer wheel bearings back to the older A2 style and used the A2 inner hub seals, just like a stock M35A2.
My question: What is better/more reliable...
I am removing the Central Tire Inflation system on our M35A3's because they constantly leak down while sitting. The axle seals seem to be mostly o-rings, is this going to be reliable?
I would like to remove the current valve stem assembly and replace it with a normal style valve stem- to make...
Does anyone have the fuel volume at cranking spec for the 465 cubic inch turbo engine injection pumps? I am working with a injection pump rebuilder and need this spec, the injection pump he rebuilt for me does not start and run without a shot of ether. He thinks he may have the fuel volume...
Hi,
I am looking to replace an older M800 series 5 ton(wildland fire truck) we have. Are the M923/925 series trucks a lot better? Is it worth the swap? More power, an auto trans and super singles would be nice. Any thoughts? Thanks
M35 60 amp alternators with NSN # 2920-00-909-2483 and 2920-01-168-7899 seem to be discontinued. Anyone know what is the military using instead? I need at least 10 alternators rebuilt.
Thanks
We have approximately 150 wildland fire trucks in our fleet, the industry standard we follow is the truck must be 10% under the GVWR. This is a National Wildfire Coordination Group regulation, and the US Forest Service and aftermarket fire apparatus builders follow as well. Another safety...
I came across this NSN number: 2530015043976 and it appears to be some kind of air brake conversion kit for the 2 1/2 Ton 6x6. Can anyone confirm this?
Did the military convert 6x6's to air brakes? I thought only aftermarket companies did this....
Thanks!
