What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

you cant Just use a different model pump and expect it to work correctly, the 4879 is for a 1990-1/2 and above 6.2L engine. being there are so many auction trucks that were reset, verify you have a 6.2 and not a 6.5, it’s not completely uncommon for the military to have installed the wrong pump.

1996 M1097A2 Self induced charging issue

if a gauge is maxed out, you have a wire disconnected, the voltage gauge only has 2 wires, 24v and ground, use a multimeter to determine your true alternator output.

Has anyone removed the cooling stack?

like I said…its not necessarily for the novice mechanic, the TM has the radiator removal process.

Has anyone removed the cooling stack?

Ok, so for everyones knowledge moving on, the ECV/REV have the ability to clean under the 2 radiator stacks, there is a kick stand at the top and the bottom is hinged on brackets, the factory hoses on all sides have ample extra hose and fitting to move the top cooler, the radiator is suspended...

Do we know how long the auctions will continue?

the auctioning of Hmmwvs is now at 11 years, the only turbo trucks being auctioned are and continue to be be USMC trucks, these trucks are what is known as “Exchange program “ or now called “Harvest” trucks, GP buys them directly from the USMC for an agreed value per contract, this is not the...

Did I toast my 6.2 engine somehow, and how do you jump a 24v HMMWV?

A starter will only grind for a few reasons… no flexplate teeth weak solenoid bad bendix gear missing teeth on the bendix have someone attempt to start the truck while you observe the bendix gear working, obviously you need to pull the inspection cover to do this. A seized motor wont grind the...

Anyone have a pic of the inside top of a 6.2 injection pump?

ive had that same plastic chunks fall in the armature and cause a runaway engine while driving…it jammed the armature in full open as I was getting onto the freeway on ramp.

Quicker EUC times since I did this…

Your’re observation is Incorrect, because even though I had a Secret govt clearance and in the military, my EUC’s got no more attention than the guy down the street, its ”first in, first out”, once the EUC hits TSC, we are all created equal….as I’ve noted before, the process ebbs and flows due...

Quicker EUC times since I did this…

It’s only required one time regardless of the number of vehicles purchased, GP can’t and won’t submit the EUC to TSC without it… You are authorizing yourself to store the vehicles at your location….not another person, it’s a stupid request.

200 amp alternator- No output, questions.

that box you have is a PCB, it’s got it own dedicated glow plug controller in the water crossover, not a TSU….TSU is only used in EESS series boxes. You are on borrowed time with that old PCB.

200 amp alternator- No output, questions.

It’s not a signal at the IGN terminal, it’s 24v that is from turning on the ignition to “run”, that comes through the “EESS” box. No 24v? the generator doesn’t know the generator is turning, once it’s turning, it waits to see a stable speed of rotation, this is part of the soft start feature.

Did I toast my 6.2 engine somehow, and how do you jump a 24v HMMWV?

Never in 30yrs ever used 2 shims, 95% of every engine Ive ever touched use one thick shim, the other 5% used none…I install a starter into every engine that goes into my test running stand and have never used a shim While on the test stand. i don’t trust rebuilt starters…you can test your...

Quicker EUC times since I did this…

“EUC” times are what they are…and nothing speeds them up, I buy a truck a week for years, the times ebb and flow.
