Was crawling under my truck today and had a thought. I noticed that the clutch pedal control lever lies on the outer edge of the frame with a clear, unobstructed view to the front bumper. Got an idea, what if you built a lever on the bumper so you could control your clutch from outside while...
Seems to me all he wants is a Deuce body. Go buy another truck, one that will 'fit your needs' better and put a deuce cab on it. These trucks were simply not designed to do what you want one to do. 2cents
I was 19 when I bought my first deuce. Check out CL and EB for classified listings. I got mine by asking the guy I bought it from if it was for sale. (I used to drive by his house and wonder) And luckily for me he had just decided to sell it the night before. Dont expect to have a 4 door rig...
Yeah :deadhorse:
I was mis interpriting some posts. I thought if there was a good ammount of fuel coming from the bleeder screw on the secondaries with the pump on then the filters were ok. That was my mistake, should have done it sooner.
The secondaries looked ok, also the gaskets provided with the filters were too large so I had to use the existing ones. No leaks yet but I'll keep an eye on it.
Take a gander at this!!!
Look at the condition of this PRIMARY!! There is literally SAND inside of it, looks like some red RTV from a botched in tank fuel pump job. The element is completely BLACK....... I think this may have been the culprit, just a guess. I took it for a short drive and...
Fuel filter replacement
Here we go, I removed my fuel filters and am replacing them this afternoon when I get new ones. They are the WIX 33511 (primary) and 33512 (secondary). Since I have a dealer very near to me that sells them I am going to replace them with the exact ones. Question, do the...
At the end of my rope...
I have just about had it with this problem, I am seriously about to sell this truck and throw in the towel on the entire MV thing...
I was convinced it was the in tank fuel pump, so I got up bright and early this morning and started working on it. I removed the pump...
I bought a bunch of shear pins from a guy that makes them custom for his fleet of powerline maintenance deuces. They are Aluminum and have two through holes at the ends for small cotter pins, he has HUNDREDS of them.
Anyway I had a similar problem a couple weeks back. I had to extract a stuck...
Would be cool to have the best of both worlds, an air starter up front and an electric starter behind it on a common driveshaft. Of course unless you could disconnect the two you would be cranking your electric starter way too fast whenever you used your air starter. Someone should invent a...
May sound like a dumb question, but how do you run a stanard PTO off an auto trans? Don't you need to be able to operate the clutch?
So that being the case would you also have to upgrade your PTO or is there an auto trans that is setup for this?
Chain hoist for overhead trans replacement
Coffee can for the tip of your stack
Flashlight, in the cab, ALWAYS (unless you are lucky and have a dome light)
Ammo cans for tool storage
A dummy hand grenade (somewhere visible, in the cab)
Something camo to wear when you drive it (I wear camo...
