Yes, there are errors, but would that be so much that we needed a special section?
What about bringing up/ discussing TM corrections here as different subjects come up, and possibly end up submitting a "SS- revised version" to whom it may concern... for the benefit of all of us users, later...
No, the stroke is the same for all MF engines; but bore is different: 4-9/16" vs. 4-5/16".
I have used the "older, separate fire ring style" - 465 gasket sets for the 427 as well. No problems at all. But I know that if I had them custom-made, 1piece, they would have to perfectly match the...
Why adapter? Where is the problem? All you have to do is swap bell-housings, for many reasons.
On your old LDS you should have one like this one. It is a direct bolt-on to the LDT engine block. (No adapter ring needed)
The 5ton clutch will only work in the 5ton bellhousing.

The bumper is the original 2.5ton and looks to be in good shape.
The weldings were done on the structural mounting plates, only. Those could be fixed or replaced. (Upper ones for the winch trucks come with 1/4" spacers welded in place.)

Also, there are industrial zinc-based epoxi primers (3 components) available, which are meant to be applied directly on freshly sandblasted surfaces.
Thats what I have been using for all my wheels, with very best results so far.

Personally I've never felt that that "quick reply" feature was of any advantage vs. the normal "add reply" ???
Thanks for your hard...
You probably missed the oil level plug, on the outer side of the gear housing...?
Yes, IMO you should try screwing that rod a couple turns more IN, provided it still is fairly straight. But before loosening anything measure the exact distance between both housings. Cut a stick or rod to exact...
It should not... see pics below
Good for you; most of the winches come with 5 plain (non-magnet) plugs, either style - 9/16" hex or 1/2"square.
You won't be able to remove that rod without dissassembling the whole winch!
But if you had that threaded end on the clutch housing side sticking out...
I'm OK with whatever the fee was to help keep this very best site running better, BUT.... is there a way to pay/contribute/donate, etc and NOT be called out loud Premium Member ????
Don't know about you all but for me this sounds kind of discriminating the way it's presented... !?
I'm not...
