HMMWV Glowplug controller and Pcb Box Question!

Not trying to bust chops, here, but we all need to get the terminology correct on these boxes, I say this because the Old units that the goverment used and have been replaced are in fact valid names, so when someone say PCB I think old box=bad or GPC, I think glow plug controller=bad, here is the...

    HMMWV Glow Plug Gospel

EESS is the Engine Electrical Start System....new name foe the Old PCB. ebay has them at times, make sure you buy a KDS or Nartron unit, they normally come with a TSU, temp sensor unit that replaces the old Glow plug controller.....I would look for the new S3 variant, and make darn sure to...

The ground harness can be made locally, run a 10ga wire from these points. 1. Gen ground 2.EESS mount bolt 3.the pass through inst gauge ground, this is on the engine side and inside the instrument gauge area far to the right, I generally replace this studded bolt while cleaning all the grounds...

No spark on MEP 018A gen set

well, she runs, and good at that...not sure what I did....I just cleaned up the points, Dist cap and reassembled. finally got spark. I have 45-50 Psi on Oil pressure and the 120v socket works with a light plugged in. I have not attempted to check output yet, I have the Selector set for 120/240...

No spark on MEP 018A gen set

did this, all looks good...Looking at previous threads, I think maybe that the Mag is being grounded. I called Saturn Surplus, he seems to think same. Maybe a bad switch? I am going to remove the wire on the Mag....I also thought a low oil pressure condition as well, but no Motor has Oil pressue...

Just picked this gen set up, has 3 hrs on it....couldn't get it started, thought it was fuel, was, leaning on fuel pump, till I disconnected the fitting into the carb...plenty of fuel, removed spark plug, soaked...fired with the plug out and no spark. 6.2 engine won't start got fuel through pump no fuel at injector?

make sure you are getting 24v on the fuel cut off at the IJ Pump, I had an intermittent issue on a truck where it would not work at times, if I wiggled the connection it would work....you will get a no fuel condition. Also, open up the bleed valve on the fuel filter and crank...should flow...

    HMMWV VIN Numbers

The only number stamped on a HMMWV is under the hood above the washer bottle, it's a 6 digit number. there is a SN and registration number on the data plate on the Bpillar...from the factory I do beleive that the either the reg# or sn on that data plate match that body number...I just can't...

where can you buy one of the torch cut chopped up hmmwvs from

Ditto on everything Greg said...plus, I am sure AM general dont want that stuff out there, they never have and as long as they are in business never will, it also does not fit into the Hmmwv-c project they are promoting...they don't need competition. Your best bet is to find a rolling chassis...

    Demilling

And I wonder just how much lobbying AM General has done to make sure none get out....think about it, AMG is darn near shuddered the production line, that's the only reason the hmmwv-c project ever got life breathed into it...if a boatload of surplus hmmwv's were dumped into the market, it will...

    Stolen Hummwv?

Folks It is quite common now to see Buildups, you can get Body's all day long as well as Chassis, 6 Bolts and drop it on. In the not to distant past DRMO was selling new A2 Body's in the Crate as Scrap....but now they must be Demilled before they leave site. I have a rolling chassis and a Body...
