Better do some measuring with that, I had the exact same plan, put a 916 winch platform on a 915, found out the trailer will hit it . . . had to abandon the plan.
If your driveshafts don’t pass the “hinge test” which is basically zero discernible movement up and down at the spline, your best option is to bring them to a drivetrain specialist and have them replace worn components.
Many stories on here of failed LMTV engines due to broken oil lines, which are caused by the way by vibration caused by driveshaft spline wear. If you are not a DIYer it’s a matter of doing the math. Very likely the crank is scored up already, which makes an inframe not an option.
Bad idea. Won't fit without brutal whacking and hacking. Fix your I6, those engines power the deuce like a raped ape. We just drove these two 1500 miles all over England, France and Belgium with zero breakdowns.
I think that is inaccurate. Navy would have painted everything visible gray. Probably not under the hood but for sure the wheels and protruding frame/bumper.
We tried to restore a tank that had been sitting on the beach once. I used a needle scaler to break off the rust. The steel plates that remained were half the original thickness. It was a lost cause.
Big big NO NO to put tires in the trash, dumpster owner could get a huge fine and back charged for fishing those out of the refuse truck, tires need to be dismounted and properly recycled, costs me $6.00 a tire here in TX.
