    M135 trans fill blew up

Never heard of this happening. If your trans was working well before the heat exchanger core failed, by all means do not pull the transmission, just flush it out as best you can. The heat exchanger is located in the trans pan, super easy to pull. You can probably just braze up the hole if it...

    Buying M1028, 50k or 150k miles?

Do you plan to drive that from GA to NY? Please say no. If the glow plugs do not work, the 6.2 will not start when cold.

    Buying M1028, 50k or 150k miles?

Sorry, it's an expression having to do with poor treatment of horses.

    Buying M1028, 50k or 150k miles?

That thing has seen a lot of hard civilian use. I assume you saw the gooseneck hitch. Rode hard and put up wet comes to mind. But I would welcome it to my stable if the price was right.

    M927? Vin question.

Start looking above the driver's front forward spring hanger. VIN will start with C527-XXXXX. Insist on a SF-97.

    Mpg of m135

Fold the windshield down, remove the rear paulin, and run no more than 50 mph. Should get 8-10 then.

Almost finished with HMMWV FD conversion.

What a great re-purpose of this truck. Too bad so many others will not see this fate. How many gallons of water are you carrying? How are you powering the fire pump?

    Replacement Deuce

Did you pull the winch from the M211 before you scrapped it? I did not look too bad. Glad you found another great truck.

newbie question, FMTV wheel bolt pattern

The pattern is 10-hole Budd, the same since the 1930's.

    Gama Goat relatives?

Yes, the 3-53 aluminum block engine has cast iron sleeves like all DD engines. The Goats not exposed to beach environments do not typically have aluminum corrosion, but the steel parts can get eaten up.

    Mpg of m135

Then buy it by all means. Just tooling around, they don't suck the gas. It's the wide open throttle that gets you the low mpg. With the automatic, the trucks have incredible pull and climbing ability.

    Mpg of m135

They make a great parade or ranch truck. Long highway trips are expensive. Most here prefer the M35A2 by far.

    Mpg of m135

I got around 5 mpg running 55 mph all the time. If you have a good transmission to start with, it will not be unreliable. Oh and welcome to Steelsoldiers.

    LU4 Winch Install

To get your bolt in the holes, here is what I do. Drive a drift punch in the hole and then clamp the two pieces with vice grips, then knock out the pin, and insert your bolt.

    M54 parking brake issues.

Send your core to heitmancompany.com, they are in Houston, relines on anything is what they do. Or buy new parts from Memphis Equipment.

    PTO help

Yes, in the cab, behind the driver's seat. I think you have to drill the holes for the carrier bearings.

m1028 from texas forest service with a salvage title?

Hmm, the NADA book value on my 1986 M1031 (K30 diesel 4x4) in very good condition is $7000. About what I figured.

m1028 from texas forest service with a salvage title?

Wish I could understand where you are coming from. Here, ANY 5/4 CUCV is worth $2000 no matter what the condition, $1500 for the axles to the rock crawler crowd, and $500 for the rest across the scale. Nice ones bring upwards of $4000. And climbing by the day. Insurance co's understand that...

    some 5 tons at work

Thanks for posting. Some great scenery up there. What do you mean, geared lower than stock? Have you swapped 3rd members with bridge trucks? Your drivers know exactly what they are doing. My complements to them.

    What model trailer is this?

Looks mil through and through. The suspension is M151 front. So that dates it after 1960. Has to be a prototype, as that is likely the only one on the planet. It would appear to be a general cargo trailer, to possibly replace the M100.
