When you do check them, use some good electrical grease to maintain a good ground.
When I did mine I used NO-OX-ID electrical grease. It actually fights corrosion.
Amazing what a difference good grounds make.
Worth every minute checking, cleaning, greasing ALL the grounds.

After a day of hauling bricks and cement bags I broke out the pressure washer.
Gave it a good wash and steamed cleaned the engine also.
Darn good ranch truck.
Now she sparkles......figuratively speaking.
I usually ask a state DOT trooper as they are much more versed on laws like that, than local or county.
Any question they can't answer they will find out for you. They have been great here.

What about making it 24v again like original? Like it left the factory.

Its a a good system once you get past the learning curve of it.
Used the M925A2 winch to pull massive 50' tree that had fallen into pond.
Winch is slow but handled that weight with ease.

I drove mine over 960 miles back, but it was a totally fresh rebuild.
New batteries, belt, hoses, tires, etc.
Not one issue with it.
I was prepared for the trip. Parts cash tools etc.
That is a long way with an unknown truck.

You do know that Texas has a few miles of coastline right?
There is no "zipping" around in these. They turn like an oil tanker and parking requires some thought and space.
It's how other drivers react around you that you have to watch. Amazing how many drivers think you can stop these like...
