The only other thing that might hold back would be fuel delivery. Fuel filter or bad injectors maybe. Not much fuel is needed to do a no load rpm test but correct full fuel mix for max power in the combustion chamber is needed to perform right.

Sounds silly but with the shift pattern are you in 5th high. As said your reaching the rpm and the numbers should work out.

Your in luck the models have not changed sine the beginning so any year manual will be fine.

Shift it to high range.

They can't do anything with the Head but replace and if there is nothing wrong with the lower end of the IP just change out the Head O rings or replace the Head with a rebuilt from Amboc or new from them if you could find one. Then there is new Head from China.

If you have a 939 series there are three air fitting on the floor board next to the drivers seat. The fitting closest to the rear of the cab is a air supply.

And if the Head was shaved it should be stamped as per TM. Also you should look for the stamp to see if it was ever shaved before.

Thanks. The Tractor and trailer have not seen the roadway yet. Being short around my small yard is fine and when she does hit the road it will be centered between the rear tires. So she got all new wheels and tires plus new seats out of a Toyota Supra that recline so nice. New cab air bags...
