FMTV Refuses to charge air from front emergency gladhand

I got a pic. See the T block the one way valve is on the right and has nothing to do with the brakes releasing. The line on the other side is the vent and is open to the glad hand and its vent.

FMTV Refuses to charge air from front emergency gladhand

Yes the vent has to work on the emergency glad hand. I add to my post about the T block but you type faster than me. The one way valve is on a T block. One side charges the air tanks and only goes one way. The other side of the T block has the vent line from the brake system. Go look at it and...

FMTV Refuses to charge air from front emergency gladhand

If the front emergency glad hand has a one way valve then it is air in only not out. We charge the tanks with that not the brakes. The line you are talking about is on the other side of the T block and vents. The one way valve is on the other side of the T block and goes to the tanks. That is...

FMTV Refuses to charge air from front emergency gladhand

Will do believe he is talking about the emergency front line that needs the one way valve. If it was not there then the air tanks could drain if the check valve was not there. Do believe the service front line does not have a one way valve. When the brakes are applied by way of the treadle valve...

    MK48 wheels

It would be the front drum that is bigger, wheel plus valve stem for the test run. Would be nice if they fit cause I have been wrong before.

    MK48 wheels

Just catching the tail end of this thread. If you have a MK48 then I believe the HEMTT wheels will not fit the drums of the MK. I put some MK's on my M920 because the HEMTT wheels you had to grind down the drum. The bolt pattern and center hole is same on the HEMTT and MK's

    LMTV fan runs frequently

Yea dump your rear hubs to get the oil changed out. When I did mine with hubs empty I filled the axle housing till the oil came out. After the axle drained into the hubs my level was correct one inch down from the fill plug.

    Master cylinder removal

Yea you can also tell if it has been replaced before as it only has three bolts to hold it in. This is where you learn to work not by sight but become the machine.

    Master cylinder removal

You said all fittings. Did you get the brass fitting that the brake line screws into?

mounting 1600R20 tires on two piece rims

As said above in less you are going to air way way down then no bead locks. I have had no trouble going from the road to the mud pit and not airing down. What gets you stuck is not knowing how deep a hole is.

    5 ton dump body

I will say I love the system on the 817's. Dang bed goes straight up. The other thought was Santa lives in FL. The other thought was to many trucks sitting in a field that need love and to find a loving home some where else.

    5 ton dump body

I bet I could sell you a M817 cheaper than any conversion kit.

    Coolant type and capacity?

Mine is green now but have the 11 gallons of the Cat ELC EC1 that I will be changing out in my M1088. I think I found the correct bolt/plug to drain the block on the passenger side.

Usage Experience of Detroit Lockers in 5T

Yea agree with Mr. decrepit fingers AKA Csm Davis. I have them in my USMC 817's and no problems they do what they are built for. They were for off road and heavy stuff that does not do a lot of 90* turns. I try and use my forward speed in the turns without adding any fuel or foot off peddle...

Power loss or gain depending on transmission fluid?

You used 15/40 should have just gone with a 10 weight. What was in there could have been lighter than what you put in. I do not mind the hard shifts. I believe you can stick with MO just drop it down in weight. I believe when loaded/overload you want fast and strong up and down shifts. Since...
