    New Master Cylinder Leak

I thought it might be the cylidner, but it's a brand new part......unless the 6-8 hours of driving I've done ruined it.... could improper shaft adjustment lead to cylinder failure? The old shaft I left connected was adjusted the same as the new one.

    New Master Cylinder Leak

Back to the forums after a while! I recently replaced the master cylinder on my '52 M-37 with a new made, identical to GI part. I had some difficulty getting the old "post" (see picture) removed from the pedal....so I simply left the old post in place, its adjustment looked the same as the new...

    Patton's Command Van Under Restoration

Wanted to ping this post again, as more work has been done and more pictures posted. Evidently, the engine is basically untouched since 1947 and kept indoors at the museum so it gives a great example: AFTA - Patton Van Project Page

New Restoration Started on March 1953 M-37/42

Looks like "HQ-11" was the vehicle at one time...strip off the other side of the bumper and it should show what unit it was assigned to. HQ-11 would make sense for a command truck. If it was the same as modern codes this would make it: Battalion (or Brigade? depends on whats on the other bumper)...

    National Car Transport?

Well not exactly....I have a barn there and a very understanding Korean Veteran grandfather who is going to "babysit" the M37 for a while. I will have holiday visitation for a while...just too expensive to move it every time I get a new assignment.

    National Car Transport?

Just got a decent quote (considering the cost of gas now) for moving my M37 from GA to KY. Just wondering if anyone else had worked with this company before? Their credentials look good. Thanks!!

    New truck, carburetor symptoms?

The carter M847 will work, I have an original 230 in my truck and it fit in just fine. You will have to take the pump somewhere with a good selection of brass fitting adapters to patch it into your system. If I remember right, it has 3/16" fine female-female in and out hook-ups. I ordered mine...

    9 months of work......

I do have a soft spot for the 984th "Land Barons". I chose 984th because that was my former unit overseas. The 984th lived up to the Vietnam legend in Afghanistan; fighting almost as much as moving dirt. The D7G (Armored) was still our workhorse, but no Rome plows. The bumper codes are correct...

    9 months of work......

So I drove my M-37 for its first big trip since getting it back to running. Drove it over 20 miles, and not any hitches other than yuppies getting ticked off at me for going 45mph on a state highway (2 lane). Even had an old gentleman flag me down, he lives nearby and has a '52 M38 and wants to...

    New truck, carburetor symptoms?

Yes, that carb you've got is an ETW1 for an M37. You can get a rebuild kit, or do a core trade for a refurbished one for around $200. It may sound pricey, but having one that's almost factory new makes a big difference. As for the fuel pump, see here for all info on rebuilding: Matt Gieselman |...

    FYI-Fuel Tank Filler Hose

I already opened up the top side of the tank and investigated when it was dry. All and all not terrible for the original tank on a 1952....probably 75% finish / 25% rust on the inside. Some very fine sediment on the tank bottom. I run a clear plastic in-line fuel filter (always carry a spare)...

    FYI-Fuel Tank Filler Hose

This is somewhat of a safety thread, but being that it's M37 specific I've posted here. As I got my '52 M37 road-worthy, I took time to replace every piece of rubber in the fuel, oil, and coolant systems, or so I thought. I came back today after the M37 sat for a week with a full tank of fuel...

Data plate on 151A1 1967 jeep (odd)

How to stamp DOD stamps - AR15.Com Archive Someone has done some inking with one. I got into the MV hobby via the reenactor/collector hobby since before I had a driver's license; from my experience there I will tell you that a repro stamper like that makes nightmares for collectors. More than...

Data plate on 151A1 1967 jeep (odd)

That's the Department of Defense acceptance stamp. They started using that in place of the Ordnance Corps stamps in the mid-1950's. Look at stock markings for M-1 Rifles....one's from from WWII will have the old Ordnance Emblem and the ones from the 50's have that symbol stamped into the stock.

    T-27 Xylophone

Anyone tried to mock-up one of these? (Sorry couldn't find a better picture) http://www.smallscaleafv.com/inspiration/zp-core/i.php?a=petr-dusek%2Fgmc-cckw-353-rocket-launcher&i=15.11.09-snimky-863.jpg&s=700&cw=&ch=&q=80 It looks like a mock-up would be fairly easy to make with some welding...

    HT Dual .50 mount?

Maybe I'm thinking it was a ship mount because the one I saw years ago was painted battleship gray.....still curious..... This pic's file name is M47 / M65 twin 50.....possibly the model number?

    What did I buy?

Well that solves it! Now all you need is a sweet semi auto 1919 to finish it off! I have one request: I'm considering making a field mod mount for my 37 using one of the sockets that are availible and a .50 cradle I picked up...... What is the height of the M25 from base to top? Thanks!
  20. Baron3-6

    What did I buy?

The pedestal is a US GI or identical for a half track, its an M25. I believe the cradle is actually an Israeli made one that fits the M2 .50 or M1919 .30. Notice how wide the ammo can holder is? and also the extra piece that can be raised to lock the longer .50 into place by the T&E mount point...
