I agree with the above. A Deuce is an amazing truck but constant long road trips are NOT what it was built for. You will hurt from sitting in that seat for 5-6 hrs (especially if you are 6'2" like me) to get 200-300 miles @ 9-12 mpg Running the engine at the top of the power band is not healthy...
Load the trailer in the bed of the deuce then either trailer or towbar the CUCV. Just take a week or 2 to go across the country. Heck it would probably be a trip you would never forget. With all the time you have to plan you could talk up the members here and probably get the lowdown on great...
I bought mine for 1400 on GL. I wouldn't put much more than 2500 in one unless it was pristine and less than 1000 in the ones you described. But thats me....:-D
Seems like you are in a great state for trucks why the interest in dealing with Guam or Hawaii? Seems to me that it would be a real hassle. But, if I had a friend who could check out the truck for me over there and it was RO/RO and you could get a reasonable shipping quote from the island to the...
Yes I agree with the above just make sure the deuce is on jack stands. It is intimidating at first (I was lucky to have my buddy stump to help) but it is real straight foreward. Look up the Pm and search on the site for instructions.:-D
I pulled a semi out of a loading dock with mine this week. We unloaded his cargo and all he was doing was digging in deeper. The rear tandems had sunk just 1/3 of the way up the tires and his (single axle) tractor was no match. The M1009 pulled him out in 4w low without too much trouble but we...
I use very little WMO and it goes in the barrel when I blend before I centrifuge but It accounts for less than 5%. Also note that if you use WVO or biodiesel in a truck that has been running regular diesel IT WILL CLEAN THE ENTIRE FUEL SYSTEM AND CAUSE ALL THE CRAP (SLUDGE) IN THE TANK AND...
I figured I would chime in to this thread as I have been using a Centrifuge for years to filter WVO and found the results to be superior and faster and cleaner and cheaper than filtering IMO. That being said... Oil is the sacrificial component btween your rings and the engine block wall...and is...
I have a propane genset I am mounting in the underside of my 109 and have two 12v batteries that run the 2500w 120v Ac inverter....the genset has a 12v charger and I also have step down 12 from 24v in the cab(15 amps). What would you like to know.:-D
I am going to mount the portable boat A/C in the front window of my box to keep from having to put a hole in the roof. Did you put another tank where your spare tire mount was? great spot for the tire though...as long as you have popeye arms! I thought about mounting my spare to the rear...
Yes! Have you flipped the switches near your left knee? There are 2 I think it is the right one that needs to be up for lights, these vehicles were made to run dark so the 2 silver switches to the left bottom of your instrument panel offer different options. Just turn on the lights and move them...
