    Wheel and tire questions

The camo one has -18. Zoom in on the front wheel and you can see the amount it sticks out (about 2"). The night picture on the green one is +6. Maybe an inch out......

    thoughts on electric fuel pump

I came across this and it looked interesting. 24v electric, compatible with gas, diesel, etc, 4-5psi This solid-state fuel pump runs on 24 volts for marine applications. Maximum fuel delivery 32 gallons per hour at free-flow. Maximum pressure 4 to 5 psi. Typical flow 15 gph at 2 psi. 1/8 NPT...

    Wheel and tire questions

+6 keeps them in almost the same as stock. -18 puts them about 1-1/2" farther out.

Losing power, overheating, shutting off, after a couple miles

If you haven't already start with fresh oil and filter, new fuel filter, remove the check valves in the supply and return fuel lines..... Good luck!

    Wheel and tire questions

I used Black Rhinos on both my HMMWV's. The Armory wheels look great and are strong. Pick either 17's or 18's and the tires of your choice. They balance great and eliminate any potential issues with the stock wheels. I have used -18 and +6 without any issues. Good luck.

    Another IP timing mark question

It's definitely retarded. When warm I pushed in the cold advance lever on the side of the IP with a screwdriver and nothing happened. The engine sound got a little quieter, but it didn't drop in rpm, sputter or stall.. I'll move the marks so they are lined up and go from there. Thanks for your...

    Humvee floor mats

It's great matting, but you are correct it's not easy cutting. I used one for the tunnel space between the four seats. Get extra blades for your razor knife :)

Hmmwv Fuel Issue after IP replacement

Late question, but.... on the original pump were the lines on the IP and harmonic balancer lined up even? With the new IP pump mounted would you say that the IP mark was towards the drivers side or passengers side of the mark on the harmonic balancer. I'm curious because the mark on my IP is...

    Another IP timing mark question

One more followup question... If I loosen the IP bolts and move it back to where the hash marks line up and start the truck can anything be damaged? Like I mentioned above the IP is retarded a good 3/16" right now. Thank you, Mark

Geared hub drain plug removal advice

I just did this recently.... Two came out easy and two rounded out... I wasn't going to try an easy out because it would have screwed up. I had a vacuum pump and sucked out the fluid and put in fresh. Whoever touched them last must have used a 500lb. air gun and red locktite

    Tie rod end cross reference

I can't find just the LH tie rod end showing up at NAPA, Auto Zone or Advance Auto.... for an H1 Hummer. Weird. I bet they were also used on Chevrolet trucks, maybe the 2500 or 3500 series.

    Tie rod end cross reference

I did that as well and when you click on the tie rod it brings up the whole assembly for $488.00.

Tips on unsticking a fan clutch?

OMG.... Sounds familiar. On my first truck (M998) the previous owner wasn't very handy..... My fan clutch wasn't working either.... Went through all the normal stuff to get it to work. Ordered a new fan clutch.... Pulled all the coolers and radiator stack.... The hose was sitting on the nipple...

    Tie rod end cross reference

2530-01-197-2160 (12338311-1) this is a LH tie rod end for a hmmwv. Does anyone know if there is a cross reference number for NAPA, Advance Auto, O'Reilly, etc. I'm trying to plan ahead if the shipper is late and I won't get screwed over on my shop appointment this coming Wednesday. Like to be...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Most all the major stuff is done. Got the Black Rhino wheels on with new tires. Round tires that are made of of rubber are so much better than rock hard egg shaped tires:D..... Couple of small electrical items and adjusting the brake light switch....
