Shouldn't be too much of an issue. I'll have the power (~1500w solar and a 6000w gen) and like the electric radiant floor, not something that runs long (given the hab has 60k BTU of diesel heater). I really only need enough for a quick shower, so on-demand makes sense. And I'm not one...
Since I've decided to add propane to the build, I'm now pondering gas water heaters.
The catch is the $300 budget...
This one is 2.6g/m. Not sure about the "no vent technology".

This one is 3.1 g/m with a standard 90 degree...
Still mocking up stuff. Got the bathroom curtain/door in. And my 55gal fresh tank.
Going to frame the stowage area to the right at entry next. Will have all electrical and batteries in the that module as well as closet storage space.
Demo will begin soon. Replacing the massive...
Yeah, be it an A0, A1, or A1R...one thing these trucks excel at is cooking the cab via insane heat.
Nothing special about the system: hot fluid goes thru hose to heater core. Fan blows air over heat exchanger.
So given that the heat comes from the fluid, I'd say that something...
I have a Bussmann battery equalizer, so no issue with 24v/12v charges.
Battery fire hazards are a thing from what I've read. Especially with the increase of cheap Chinese lithiums being used w/solar in RVs and "van life" rigs. Remember, when it comes time for batteries I'll be using...
I have a 10hp Dewey BAPU (24v diesel battery charger). I modified it by changing out the charging head to a 6500k generator head. Sadly, two years later after only 24 hrs of run time, the generator head suffered a catastrophic internal mechanical failure.
I'm debating...
Batteries under a bed are actually pretty dangerous. from what I've read. It's often done, but there are very solid fire/explosion/safety reasons not to.
Of course my only other location is next to the only exit from the habitat, so I suppose there's no perfect solution here...
But those 3-way stoves can often be installed incorrectly especially if not a manufacture install. There's an industry standard to building the combustion box behind the fridge. Hell, the one I got from my nephew did not work on gas when he got his new RV. He had know...
Hey, I kept them down in "the bunker" for good reason all these years. They ain't getting out (too much to explain if they are ever seen again).
I'm sticking with exposed conduit drops. I want to retain some of the utilitarian feel so the OEM wire channel and drops will remain...
So it begins...
Winter project: time to start putting the piles of stuff sitting in the living room into the hab.
Next step will be to gut the hab, pull the lighting and re-land some of the electrical drops, paint the interior, lay the flooring and radiant heat, then get...
Not all my rides are FMVs.
*relevant because "headphones" ;p
Sorry for the skipping camera in that car, it's one of those mouse-pointy-turny-look-around-clips.
:)
Good info there. I recently accepted the fact that I'll use propane (since a number of the items I was given for the build can use it). I wasn't sure how much/how many tanks I would need. I have a pair of 5-gals that a neighbor tossed me after he upgraded to 30 and was looking...
They want cat scales and an inspection here. They look to see if you have any four of like a dozen criteria that meet the req's for "RV" here in Texas (easy list to fill and I'm like 8/12 so all set there). But as I said, they could sort out a school buss (after I showed them...
I was down at titles today and meant to ask about this. I have to go back with a cat scale reading for my other truck tomorrow and I will ask the fella about it then. I found a manager who was quite knowledgeable (rare here) and he even commented on what a PITA dealing with GP...
I'm dreading the install of mine. It's three foot long with the outlets on the end. The frame section above the exhaust where I'm thinking I will place it is only like 40". The shelter is going to have to come off (which I thought I might get away w/o doing) if it's going to...
Nice!
One thing, always check local laws about vehicles and headphones. Interestingly, in a lot of states you can't drive on the road while wearing them. I always have a one-ear set for driving (all my cars and trucks have headsets...reasons).
