I got my Tiger Tool, and removed the front shaft. Without doing anything, I took it into the driveline shop, and had them check it. They said both u-joints needed replaced, the u-joint cap holes in the yoke have been wallowed out enough that the caps are no longer press fit, and the shaft has...
Do you happen to have their internal part number for that shaft? I can't seem to find it on their site (the search function returns nothing for searches like "driveshaft" and "fmtv shaft", even though I can obviously see there are items with those keywords in them).
There are a number of overland expedition style rig builds around here. Some use existing boxes (e.g. military "shelter" boxes, RVs, trailers, campers, etc.), some build their own custom stuff. I think a couple of the posts are in the first page or two.
Interesting, I hadn't seen that one before. I wonder if that's just a custom thing? It wouldn't be hard to just get a small adjustable mirror and put it on the mirror mount tubes like that.
I haven't had a chance yet, but I want to look through the wiring diagrams and see if there is one for that winch panel harness. I'd like to make a tach harness that performs the same function, but just for the tach without the winch controls. So basically it would plug into whatever connector...
I had to order the parts, so I sent my buddy to pick them up later that day. I knew as soon as I saw them that they were wrong. Even if I had been there to check them, I still would have been going home to figure out what the right parts were.
In response to the sarcasm about looking up all the...
No, I'm not looking at the wrong spreadsheet, though yours has since been changed. You can see there is a note on the Napa fuel filter cell where I say that it used to read "FIL 3623" and that the correct number is "FIL 3239". That comment is dated in June. I went and bought the 3623, got...
You are free to use it however you wish. I'm not in competition with you. It's foremost for myself so that I know I've kept it all straight and documented all the things I've figured out, but I'm sharing it in case someone else would like to benefit from my OCD. I have an LMTV, so I want to know...
That's fine, I knew some people wouldn't like the idea, and others would. For whatever reason you want to speculate, the other spreadsheet isn't up to date and is simply incorrect. That makes it rather useless to me, and I don't want to spend the extra time to have all the discussions...

I've been maintaining my own parts reference spreadsheet, since it doesn't seem like the stickied one has been updated in many years. I made a copy and have been adding...
Yeah, in that picture you posted you can faintly see the holes in the top of that duct area (facing upward). My truck has that same hole pattern, in a similar piece of metal, but mine is just not that tall and doesn't have the windows. So basically those holes are at about the height of the...
I don't think so, though someone else might know more than I do. My truck is an original '96 (e.g. not an A1, etc.), and I don't have that piece at all. So I think that's just an upgraded defroster duct, to improve airflow against the window or something, and is clear so that you don't lose...
No, when I took the zerk fittings off to test if they were stuck or not (they weren't) the inside of each of the bolts looked rust free and full of grease. They were clearly the original, or very old, zerks because they had several layers of paint on them.
On the joints that the rejuvenator...
