On the front you will need extended shock mounts even with lift. look at ORD or DIY4x4, (ORD sells a ford front shock mount that you have to cut to length) thats where I got my bilsteens and the extended upper shock mounts. I do not beleive bilsteen makes a stock length shock for the vehicle...
I do not know the color codes but my powder coater was able to match the forest green (gillespie) on my 1009. I powder coated my 1009 brush gaurd and it is an exact match to my gillespie paint. nice thing about that is i can touch it up along with the truck with rattle cans.
flat black would...
I should know soon. I just got the tracking number from ORD for my magnum box, It is supposed to be here this friday. due to work, it will take me a couple of weeks to get installed but this is the last piece i have been waiting on to get the truck on the road. 4 t0 6 weeks has turned into...
centramatic wheel balancers
I installed the centramatic balancers on my 1009. These Auto wheel balancers are made in Alvarado Texas and I had a set on a motorhome which worked great. I also know of a couple of independant truckers that use these on there trucks and swear by them. I went by...
are you sure you will not need to relocate the hoses and fuel line. The exhaust looks like it will melt the two plastic lines and with the fuel line that close to the pipe, you may risk heating the line up and causing some vapor lock in the fuel line.
just a thought when first looking at the...
Have you considered just putting in new floor pans, looks like you got more than just a few patches. I would consider new floor pans and rockers and just cut it out instead of stripping it.
This is why I do not like rhino lining, rust gets under it and grows.
If you have a 205 and have a 32 spline input shaft, I do not beleive you can change it to the 27 spline because the 27 spline uses a smaller bearing. I changed my 27 spline input to the ORD Magnum input shaft (just waiting on the magnum box to bolt to it).
I had to bore the case out to...
My 1009 with 5 inches of lift cannot use the standard slip yoke on the 208 with stock style driveshaft. I have bad vibration and the slightest drop in rear axle will bind the ujoint at the slip yoke. I am installing new tcase with fixed yokes and using cv style driveshafts front and rear.
I think the adapter modification might be the easy part, I used an aftermarket controler and the wiring and install for this was very easy, The TPS will be needed and I believe you are going to need an engine RPM signal also. Consider a Dakota Digital DS1 module if you do need it, It is easy to...
sorry, I thought it was a 1008 with the 208 and that you were changing to a 205, so my bad.
yes, then you have it easy. all you have to do is mill the inside lip down on your current addapter and it will fit the 4l80e.
I have a 1009 that had the 208 and I am changing to a figure 8 - 205. with...
my suggestion would be to get a multimeter learn to use it and to diagnose your truck yourself. IF you take it to a mechanic, print the tm's and give him that also because he will probably mess your truck up more with out it.
For weatherstriping and seals, buy new ones, any used ones are going...
The back of the 4l80e is the same as the th400, with the exeption of the diameter of the inside of the housing. you can use the same th400 adapter on the 4l80e you just have to mill the lip on the adapter down (small lip on the adapter that fits into the trans housing). IF you were using a 208...
My gray dash turned out good with black color bond. use many light coats. it is not glossy and I was using black so the color came out very even, not sure what other colors will do.
If you take your dash out and the back side foam is in bad shape you can use some setting agent called 'GaurdZ'...
techno, I want to know how these lights are working for you, I like the look. how much and where do you get them?
As far as headlights, I'm getting a pair of 55W HIDs in a blacked out projector housing... Less than $100.
DO get 4300k, DO NOT get anything above 5000k. It turns blue, and you...
I was worried about the t on the water side also but it does seem to funtion without problems. I have checked it with IR thermometer and the guage is fairly accurate. I added heat by using a heat gun to heat the t fitting and the gauge operates without any problems. I did not heat it to the...
I installed t's on both my oil and water sensors to run gauges and still have a light. I did not know about the extra hole at water pump, may look into moving one senor to this location.
get the pitman arm puller, they are cheap and will not break anything. you can use the same puller to pull the tie rod ends. I purchased one from LMC along with the steering wheel puller and lock ring compressor. All three tools were less than $50 and now I can fix anything steering related.
