I’ve had the fan clutch fail on REV’s, works perfectly fine at 45mph and lower….but will over heat at freeway speeds, if everything else checks ok?
id replace the viscous fan clutch
That gear has specific instructions for installation, do not turn the input shaft while it’s out of the truck.
This gear uses a sesctor shaft, turning it to far in either direction can cause issues.
the difference of a 4L80 and 4L85 is “5”, it means nothing…the 80e isn’t mfg’d any longer at GEP, the 85e is just an update.
for Hmmwv’s this really means nothing because the TD only Puts out 190-200HP. These updates were really more for Civilian application vehicles.

I have that tool and it’s the best one made…been using it for years, there is a roll pin meant to shear off, thats why it builds no tension.
