I am 99% sure it is also 7/16" on the M1009 (been a while since I pulled my shaft). Bring a rag to jam in the transfer case output hole to prevent a big mess.
Here's an idea to toss about. If the Las Vegas get together shifts a little ot the West, and the spring Camp Dirtbag shifts a little to the East, we could have one big get together together. Probably having the event in Nevada would be best.
One drawback, potential long drives for both groups.
On a rough road, I call my deuce "Leapin' Lena". The usual name is "Betsy". When we're going up a really steep hill, I encourage her by saying, "Come on Betsy, you can make it!"
When we crest the top, I pat her dashboard and say, "Good girl Besty. I knew you could do it."
The LDS-465 engines were out of the five ton multifuel trucks. They have been put into 2 1/2 ton trucks by the military for many years when the truck is rebuilt.
I had 6TL's in my CUCV and I was not happy with them. They leaked acid all over the place and made cleanup and painting of the fender and battery trays a big job. I think I got two years out of them. I put in group 31's from the local auto parts store and the Blazer starts better than ever...
My brother used to live in Winneconne and work in Oshkosh. I love the EAA fly in and I think this is a great idea. I wish I lived close enough to participate. My favorite spot was where they displayed the float planes at the little cove on Lake Winnebago.
First of all, welcome to Steel Soldiers.

Look man, the experienced people here have been giving you good reasons not to try this (no braking, no steering, you'll probably kill someone). If you do this, we will probably see you on the nightly news. This would be just what our hobby doesn't need - some ignoramous causing an accident...
Bravo, you're obviously new to the site, and I apologize if I was harsh earlier. What you have in mind is just plain unsafe for many reasons. While the M880 might be able to get the MK17 trailer moving, if you tried to get the combination stopped without trailer brakes at any speed over barely...
Dude, that trailer weighs more than five times the weight of your M880. What route are you planning to take? I have relatives in Illinois and I want to warn them to stay out of your way! :cookoo:
I wonder why you're starting the truck every day and letting it run when you are not planning to drive it. You should not let a truck sit all season and should start it once a while, but starting it every day is overkill. You are putting a lot of start up wear on the engine when you don't have...
