Not if you have an M1009, unless you buy two of the Tee fittings and then splice them together to make one flat 4-wire connector. The M1009 does not have the same connector setup as the other CUCV trucks. Ask me how I know... :-o
If you don't want to cut anything, you can buy some extra...
Its just a bulb, nothing special. Just be aware that the Gen 2 bulb has a different rating from all the others. I don't remember the number for it, but it should be in the CUCV FAQ.
Pull the batteries and have them load tested at the local auto parts store. I'm guessing that the rear battery will fail under load test. If they pass the load test, give them a full charge and see how it does.
While you are in there, clean all the electrical connections you can find. It is...
Perhaps a bad or out of alignment ignition switch? Or maybe something to do with the neutral safety mechanism?
Time to get out the meter and trace those wires! :)
Mine had the AC13g glow plugs in it, and they used the stock, smaller, connector. I believe the Wellman glow plugs also have the smaller terminal. Many people just file down the connector on the new plugs and use the existing connectors.
With some of the stories I've read here about swollen and...
There is no issue that I am aware of that would prevent the use of the slave cable to jump start a CUCV just because it has Bosch glow plugs in it. What has been mentioned is that if you have done the 12v bypass of the 24v resistor pack for the glow plugs, the slave jump start may not be as...
What an awesome project for the kids at school!
Have you posted in the VIN info thread? Perhaps CARNAC can pull up some history on it.

Installed the Gen2 and voltmeter relays I bought from CUCV Electric. Also greased all the zerk fittings I could find, which amounted to 4 of them.
After reading some good info on the windshield wiper parking problem from a post by 86M10086.2L, I decided to pull the cover off the park/wash...
If the truck is still in its stock 12/24v form, do the doghead relay mod, and look into the 12v bypass for the glow plugs.
Clean every electrical connection you come across.
Check fuel and vacuum lines for rot/cracks. Lots of headaches from air leaks can be solved by inspecting and replacing...
Test for continuity between the small terminals and the metal mounting tab. You'll need to disconnect the wires first, of course. If there is any continuity between either of the small terminals and the metal mounting tab, you will need to get a different relay. The GP relay must have isolated...
I think so too. File a civil suit against him and the scrap yard. If the timeline is correct as laid out, that they knew about the parts before he sold them to the yard, they are just as guilty!
You'll need a load tester, which can be found at places like Harbor Freight, or you can take the batteries into your local auto parts store, as many of them offer free load testing of batteries. While you are at it, many auto parts stores can also test the alternator.
I'll have to look for it again, but somewhere I remember seeing a note, in the TM's, that said that junction does not exist on the M1009...
Looks like it is on the F-18 wiring diagram - says "This connector not present on M1009 trucks"
I know that is the blackout light wiring diagram, but that...
I think I saw an engine harness just listed on that auction site. Also, there is a member here that has a thread about many CUCV parts available, http://www.steelsoldiers.com/vendors-forum/88384-hillbillywizard-com-cucv-parts.html#post1133427
Taking the damper off was not too hard, as it was the original and had the holes around the outside edge. I saw somewhere in the TM that you can stick a tool, I used a screwdriver, through one of those holes and let the end of the tool brace against a portion of the engine block. This allowed me...
I just used a puller set from Harbor Freight to do mine. Nothing special. It was HF #37824. I did rent the harmonic damper installation tool from the local auto parts place though.
Is there a method to clean the alternator cases when you have it apart? By that i mean the outside of the case, to make it all nice and new looking? I would like to be able to do this at home, and no, I don't have a media blasting cabinet. I asked once before, and the suggestion was to take it...
Ok, I must be missing something. How come I can't find this Event number at all on GL? I've not been playing around much with their site, but I can't even find this Event number when I'm looking up past auctions.
Is there some wait period from the time the auction closes to when one can look it...
