Hello All,
I wanted to see if any of you know if a mil trailer or dolly set that is designed to move 40' containers. I have a high cube container that I need to drag up a mountain. The only hiccup is there's a fairly tight left hand turn which will limit the overall wheelbase of the rig. I...
...but it has split ring wheels (at least in the front). I thought you couldn't run split ring wheels with radials. Am I wrong? Does this mean my radials have tubes in them? :?::roll:
So my friend has a 6.5L Suburban and he tried to run some WMO in it. The thing ran like crap and he said it was because of the optical fuel sensor that needs to be able to see through the fuel to measure it properly or something.
Does the 6.2L in the CUCV have this? I searched, but couldn't...
So I concinced my parents to finance the purchase of a deuce so we could make some extra cash. I was sad to have to sell it because the truck is so sweet and we got such a good deal on it. I was just about to start advertising a lot more and they gave me the news. They decided to give me the...
**Update at the bottom**
So I finally got this thing running again after about a year. I had to replace the fuel pump and had other things going on and was gone for the whole summer so I didn't get it done. I wired in an electric pump to replace the mechanical one a few days ago. The truck...
So what rules go along with selling a deuce? I know I have to make sure they're an American citizen, but do I have to get them to fill out an EUC and send it in or can I just sell it? Am I liable if they try and sell it to a foreign national/government? I am the initial purchaser from GL and...
So I finally got my truck going the other day and I've been getting it ready for inspection. I was wiring up the horn today (not the stock way) and all of the sudden I lost all the power to my fuse block (which my new electric fuel pump is running through). The only thing I can figure is that...
Since getting my deuce and sitting in others, seat choice has become increasingly important to me. Obviously I'm going for a springer seat. The first pic shows a standard box type seat and the second pic shows a springer. I can't tell which the third pic is. Are there any other types I...
I'm in the pep band at Virginia Tech and we were down in Atlanta for the ACC tournament so that proved to be the perfect time to recover the trucks. I got one and I picked up one for Don (HeadWizard). I picked up both trucks on Wednesday and stored them/worked on them until Saturday when the...
I'm picking up a deuce in Kennesaw (10am) and one in Marietta (whenever I'm done in Kennesaw) today. I have a tow bar, so hopefully one will be safe to drive.
I could really use some experienced help if anyone is available. Give me a call (won't be around the comp) if you can lend a...
I found a lot of threads from last march that said SF-97s were taking over 100 days to get to the customer. Is that the case now, or are things back to the 15-30 day mark?
Thanks
Tyler
I'm trying to find out as much about the truck as possible from the pics before I go to get it. This looks like a switch, but I can't really tell. I'm sure some of your eyes are more well trained for this sort of thing than mine are. It's a 1971 M35 if that helps.
Thanks very much.
Tyler
What sorts of switches should I look for in a deuce. Different trucks appear to have different numbers of switches under the dash. Generally I see one switch (for the front wheel drive) but the one below looks to have several. Do you guys know what these others would be for?
Thanks for the...
Is there anyone making a cross country trip? I can bring the axle to meet you somewhere within a few hours of where I am (blacksburg, va).
Let me know if, when, and how much!
Tyler
I found this thread due to the handy dandy auto search thingy that popped up, but I have a suggestion, so I figured I'd post in this section of the forum.
Why don't you host a separate "uploader" on the surver such as the one seen here so that people can link to pictures using [img] tags...
I've heard different things from different people. My friends and I have always said C-U-C-V, but I've heard others call it a CUC-V (kuk-v). How do the guys in the service say it? :)
I decided that there was no way that I was going to buy the stock replacement tie rod end at $109. I figured I could build something better for the same cost that would make it much cheaper to change ends in the future. This is what I ended up with. Its 1.5" OD 1/4" wall DOM tube with weld in...
I've just replaced the batteries and man does that engine spin now! I got 2 neverstarts from Walmart to get me by till I can get all of the electrical issues worked out.
The engine spins fast now to start, but it still won't start without a quick shot of ether after sitting for a while. I'm...
